Can I put on my 09 CF stickers now?

i just got my 09 CF stickers in the mail. Can I put them over the 07 right now, or do I need to wait until after the first. From a not loosing them point of view, I would love to just put them on right now while they are still on my feeble mind.

I don't see why not. They just show your boat is registered thru the end of '09. I know I will put mine on my boat as soon as I get them. Should be in the next couple of days. I am known fer losing anything not attached

YES put them on!!!! It shows that the boat is registered until 2009. You will have NO problems.

Yes, you can put them on!! but why place them over the old stickers?

Get a blow dryer and slowly heat the old stickers, after about 30 seconds they will become peelable. Just remove the old and place the new ones on.

This keeps your boat looking good not having a pile of old stickers.

DMV will not issue a current registration until ALL fees due are paid and that includes any previous years registration fees. Therefor, if they have sent you the 08/09 registration stickers, The Department is satisfied and issues a Certificate of Number (registration certificate) and registration stickers to identify a vessel as currently registered.

You can put them on yer boat immediately, covering or replacing the 07 sticker.

Along the same token....Anyone know about the so called "luxury boat taxes?" When I registered my boat last year at the DMV after purchasing it they said I need to make sure that all previous taxes be paid before they will allow it to be registered. They said that I should recieve this tax bill in the mail. I have never received any luxury tax info or bill since I've owned the boat. It has been a year know and I did receive my DMV boat registration renewal for 09 and was able to renew. Any info on this from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you buy a new boat you will get a property tax bill from the county the boat is stored in, this bill is usually due each August for boats owned on January 1st of the same year.

I'm not sure about the process if you bought a used boat but there's no doubt the county will catch up to you eventually, That's what they do best! Find people who owe them money.

You might want to call your county tax collector and check it out otherwise they will also nail you for penalties and interest, Like I said, taking money from you is what they do best!

i have had both used and new...the county will catch up to you based on the dmv registration and even if u change counties the new one gets the notice based on ur license change of address.. I didnt register with the county but they sure did send me the bill....jack

Oh, and don't be surprised that it comes at the worst financial time too - like it shows up in March, due miracuously sometime in April when you owe other taxes, or maybe due in July, right when you already put a deposit on that houseboat for a 2 week fishing vacation at the same time.

Uuuggh - they know how to find you, then hit you when it hurts the worst.
