sly park is all small mouth. And its either awsome fishing or dead. Plus it was kinda a throw out to put the odds in my favor. I fish it allot. Its a big lake, but there are only a few spots that hold the fish. And I was gunna beat you all there in my kayak. I have heared some guys in my bass club say that scotts flat is awsome. and it has small and largemouth. Its something like 800 acre lake with 7 miles of shore line.

Do you mean Lake Theodore? It is off the highway just east of the Clipper Gap exit.

From what I remember its allot of granite slab and rock. Really clear water. I was going to go scouting for fish friday and saterday. I have an open back seat if any of you guys dont mind the slow tin boat. Its only 15' with a 20hp but it doesnt cost anything to maintain, just wipe it down with a dead carp to get the smell out. Actually I got it set up nice, bass seats, carpet. But it doesnt have satalite with NFL ticket like rips pontoon boat. That thing had more strap ons than a cage dancer.

All you Googlers try Live Search Maps. I found that the satellite images are much more current and detailed. Just an idea. Good luck with your tournament!

I have been fishing Scotts Flat with my family since 1966. I love that lake. You would have to launch out of gate # 1. That way you could fish the dam are where there's lots of rock and smallies.

Gate # 2 is more red mud and large mouth. I bet the waters way low now too.

The date is going to be 11/24/07 due to some conflicts. I am waiting for Brambo to tell about his scouting reports.

I was supposed to check a few lakes but the kids have had the flu. Ripndog is the guy to ask. I have been running around with a shop vac and a weed sprayer with carpet cleaner sucking up puke for a week. I think we were thinking about lake theodore up by Auburn last. But I think there might be better spots.

Rip I have been internet fishing. Gibson ranch is a county park and doesnt look to have any gates on the satalite so I know its open. Theodore would be a good one if we have more people I think it has bigger fish than gibson. I know of a small lake at the end of arden off of fair oaks that has ok bass. Plus the trout planter truck just fed them. (SWIMBAIT TIME)... But I havent fished it in a year. Theodore has trout to and guys are fishing for them from the bank. Sorry rip I like to swim bait fish so this time of year I am tracking the planter trucks to find the bite. I hope you got a more scientific method because mine dont always work. But when it does it pays off.
