Ive Seen her, and she is good

Post by Lance »

This is the new Z20, my first Ranger and she's awsome!!. Rick G did a great job with the color scheme but it is based of of JB's 520. She comes home Thursday.

Lance- congratulations!!! You are going to love your Z20. I love mine. It is by far the best boat I have ever had or have ever fished out of (except maybe for a Z21 or 2). The colors are awesome..

Congrats again,

Sorry...Newbie question! Are you going to name her...and do others angler's name their boats??? It seems like something people would do, but as we all know....Angler's, are more then just people. So whats her name? To all others as well? Did you name your boat? Newbie's want to know?

Ron is right its been 3 years BUT it actually has been longer than that. I can remember back in 1978-79 when I lived in Castaic. After my paper route, I used to ride my Huffy to the upper lake and stand on the dock asking guys "hey mister need a partner"?. I would mostly target Ranger guys because as a kid I felt Ranger guys were better fisherman overall. When I got off the lake most guys would take me and my bike back to Jack and Claud's tackle store (some of you might remember them). I Remember telling Claud one time "Claud some day, I'm going to own a Ranger"!

I thought it was going to be realized when I found out JB was selling his 520. For those who know JB, he has an awesome boat, not to mention he really takes care of it. My hart was crushed when I found out that it wouldn't fit in the garage because of the slope of my driveway. The only boat that would fit was the Z20 (it has a shorter trailer).

So it was natural for me to order my first Ranger with JB's colors but in a Z layout. Rick G was also instrumental in many of the key changes such as going with a light grey bottom and a silver trailer. Me being hesitant about change (I wanted Black trailer and bottom like JB), Rick explained why I should think about it, and he assured me that it would look great just killer.

So as many of you know it came in on Monday so I had to get down there on Tuesday morning. When Rick started to strip back the shipping plastic when I started to realize that Ricks suggestions on color changes looked absolutely striking. For the first 5 minutes Rick and my conversation went something like this.

Me: Wow!
Rick: See I told you
Me: Man!
Rick: Yup
Me: I cant....
Rick: Heh he he
Me: This is killer
Rick: Hee he he
Me: Holly cow!
Rick: I know
Me: This is mine?
Rick: You ok Lance he he he
Me: Huuu? Goooowwww

I then spent the next few minutes talking to Jesus, he's been doing the rigging for Anglers for quite some time. I explained everything how I wanted everything and he had no problem doing what I needed, this as a result made me feel pretty good about him ding the rigging. He also is cleaning up the back of the boat so it looks "cleaner"

So I pick her up tomorrow and I really dont think I'm going to sleep tonight.

The only bummer is Rick couldn't guarantee that I would start catching 20lb bags

Lance I'm not a Ranger guy but that is a sweet looking boat that your Wife has
After reading that post about growing up and wanting a Ranger it took me back along ways and made me think of the same as a kid walking the bank and wishing someday I could have a Boat and play

Good thinking JB - I've already planted the seeds, and while it won't be soon I'll probably be making my next one a Z520 as well... can't wait to actually see one.

Ok..OK..Lets get it right now Lance..

Post by scottsweet »

So lets see...

Now that you have your Ranger...

1. You will look really good in your Ranger clothes...but Tracy will look pissed because she has to wear Triton clothes.

2. You can now drive your boat straight with the trim up...but well...you won't chine walk nor will you have to drive funny...but it is a Ranger.

3. You will be able to jump up and down in all the compartments and well..they won't move...but your Triton's will...cause well..its a Triton.

4. You hate Rangers cause well..it makes no financial sense to own a Ranger so I think you should sell it and use your Triton.

5. You will have really cool reels, rods, rod lockers, seats and colors...but well..it is only a Ranger...I think you will look better in your Triton clothes.

6. You will be really really excited to fish on one side of the boat and well..the boat won't really move much...even if you jump up and down...so well..I think you will have a better chance of falling in and having more wet fun in your Triton..so I think you should fish in your Triton.

7. I think if you look really cool, say really cool things, throw your baits really hard and crank with precision and confidence...well..the Ranger will catch more fish...it is guaranteed!

8. I can't wait till someone takes a picture of you with your Ranger and does a little Photoshop magic and changes the name of the clothes and boat to "I love my Triton cause...cause...just BECAUSE!"

9. Finally and most importantly...welcome to Ranger family...cause it is like we all have been telling you, it is the best bass boat on the market and well..Lance..you will be a happy man even if you don't catch a single fish!

Now that I said a whole bunch of stuff that makes little sense....good luck and enjoy with your new boat!

Pretty good babble though, Scott!!! I really like that first observation!

Funny thing is, I'm sure Lil'T can fit in all his Triton stuff, since he's such a slender guy!

I spoke with him last night, and MAN is he excited!!! Wait 'til you all see what he's doing with his garage also - he's bit hard!

WELCOME TO THE RANGER FAMILY!

Roger
