Einstein's Riddle

Post by Marty »

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same beverage.

The question is “Who owns the fish?â€

Let me be the first to say the fish is owned by the German:

Norwegian-- Dane----Brit--------German----Swede
Yellow--------Blue-----Red--------Green------White
Water--------Tea------Milk--------Coffee-----Beer
Dunhill-------Blends---PollMall---Prince------Bluemasters
Cat-----------Horse----Bird-------Fish--------Dog

I am embarrassed to say that I have actually spent about an hour on this... but I think I have it figured out...The Norwegian in the yellow house that smokes Dunhill and drinks water...Right?

Oh, now that I post my answer I see that some someone else has a better answer. I dont see how the Norwegian has the cat, I ruled that out early (although I dont remember why).
