The Rairrazors are THE TICKET out in Disco right now.

They have always eaten those like crazy in preference to R/T's, Jerk Baits and the like out there .. I don't know whay exactly ??

I am using the 3/8oz White/Char with the small spinner under the head. -- Just cast it-- Reel it and pop swim it back in..Let it fall to the bottom and scrape along with swim/rest/swim/rest and shake. It is very versitile and easy.

6" White Twisty trailers and White paddle-tails on the back.

Don't overlook the KastMaster Spoons with a bucktail hook as well.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

It is a bucktail jig commonly used for stripers. It is also spelled hair raiser.

Hair Raisers are a specific brand of bucktail jig using the banana style head. Nowadays "hair raiser" is a generic term covering all the bucktail jigs much the way "kleenex" or "xerox" have become generic terms.

My favorite bucktail jig for stripers is Rodstrainer's Shim Jig.

Rod Runner ( is what I use)which has A small blade attatched to the head in White trolled behind your boat or cast and real it. Mega Bait also makes A great bucktail jig.

Add A White 6" curl tail worm to it for more bulk.

Good luck

Here is a pic of what I am using .. and mean by using a "Paddle Tail" ....

This tail sticks straight up and swims/flutters side-2-side -- and flat out KILLS THEM !! I am almost out of these trailors and I can't remember where I got them last. The twisty tails work as well -- but this action- combined with the little spinner- is Da Bomb !!

Image

When I grew up out there in DB as a teen -- I would make my own home made spreaders to troll with -- and have a Rapala minnow the top/long leader and a Hair Raiser on the short/bottom for weight and depth depending on the weight of the HR -- or a Broken Back deepdiving Rebel short leader -- with a HR long leader trailing it.

90% + of the time --- the Linesiders ALWAYS took the HR.

I will be out there with my Dad and the boys this Sunday..... if Kris will let the boys play hookie from Church to with Poppa J. :D

Give us a hello if you see us !!

I'm pretty sure that thing with the spinner blade is also commonly called a Road Runner or a Stump Jumper. I think you can find a nice selection of them at BassPro - and they have the trailers too. I think the banana head is clutch for good action. Also, red/white combos can be productive for stripers too.

Gene at The Hook has alot of the paddle tails in stock -- and the Spin Razors available in 1/2, 3/4 and 1oz. ........ Sorry- No more 3/8oz.

I had to run up there to visit Gene/Rob and get Smore ........... before you all clean my replacements out !!
