Cabela's Reno SUUUUUUUCKS!

Post by basstamer »

Ok it doesnt suck !BUT man it is NOTHING like Bass Pro Shops in Las Vegas!!! I had hearhat greatd somewhere that the Reno store is Cabela's biggest store(?) Man I was disappointed in the size too-nothing like BPS....Cabelas is more of a hunting store than anything else but it just didnt have the same flair for me. :(

I too, was disappointed with Cabela's (Glendale, AZ) vs. BSP (Mesa, AZ). But, if you are into hunting then Cablea's is it for you. Cabela's bargain cave was not a bargain.
I have to admit that you really cannot compare the two because they donot have the same focus - one focuses on hunting and the other fishing.
Now, PGA Tour Superstore (Scottsdale and Chandler, AZ) is a candy store is you have lots of $$$$ and into golf.

Actually, the Reno store is one of their smaller stores.

You missed the coolest thing about the Reno store....someone put a few trout in with the bass in the tank.....I don't think that will end well for the trout........

Not if it were the Nevada state record Lake Trout (37 lbs)--it would probably eat all the bass...and then some!

Is it even worth the trip up there then ? I was wanting to go but have been to a couple while traveling to Tennessee last year and those were pretty good . Oh and I agree with whoever mentioned BPS. They blow away Cabela's for sure..

This thread changed my mind about going there. I've been to the one in Owatonna, MN which is huge but not as big as Nebraskas. They have a great selection of fishing gear.

I haven't been to Cabelas yet but, it's gotta be better than Sportsmans Warehouse. If not in quality of products, certainly in customer service.

I can't tell how many times I have wondered around looking for help and couldn't get it at S.W..

I went to Bass Pro Shops in Duluth Ga. (Atlanta area).........WOW!!!!

We need a BPS here....yesterday!

Hell the biggest Bass in the tank was like 3 lbs! Hack if it were me right this second I would drive to Vegas to BPS before I would make the drive back up to Reno for Cabelas. Don't get me wrong Cabelas was nice but after being at BPS I will most likely not go back to Cabelas-Reno's at least. Heard from Bones lately??? I left him 2 Voicemails and he aint called me back in a week-if you talk to him tell him I'm gonna come by the store and whoop him if'n he dont call!Tighties!

As you can see for yourselves Cabelas ain't for every one.

But being a long time buyer of Cabela's camping gear and Guide Wear from catalog only. I have never had a problem with them not getting me what I wanted when I wanted it!!!!

When I want fishing gear I mostly shop at my local tackle store or order on line from BP or other sites.

So i am puzzled as why you even bothered to make the drive to the Reno store in the first place. when all you had to do was turn on your computer ?

I guess the old adage (You can never make everyone happy) is still true. But I just don't get all of the bad rapping ?

Guy...I am not bashing Cabelas as much as attempting to inform my brother nutcases as to my disapointment since this is a fishing site-now if I went on a hunting site and posted this I would understand your post but annnnyways your right-you cant please everyone all the time! I drove up there for the 'experience'-I had such an 'experience' upon pulling into BPS parking lot-never got it at ALL @ Cabelas...anyways I will save my duckets for BPS-just my .02.
Terry your right I talked to 'Ol Boner tonight and he has been sick plus other things and your right the Christmas swing has all them lovely MILFS gushing thru the door seeking his help-lucky bastard! Tight Lines guys-
