Big Bass at Diamond Valley Lake

Post by MegaBassCatcher »

I've been fishing Diamond Valley Lake this past month for Bass and the talk at themarina and on the water is about the Striped Bassmaster Gregg Silks. His ZPLUG Lures are bringing in some real big ones, both Largemouth and Striped.I googled his name and got several hits, but the best are his video clips on his YouTube Channel "ZPLUGS".There's a real funny one of a gal that landed her first striper. Check it out under"Funny Fishing with ZPLUGS" at http://youtube.com/user/zplugs don't know about you guys, but I got a ZPLUG now and can't wait to try it out.

BIG BASS HERE I COME!!! They better watch out now for the MegaBassCatcher, because I'm on my way this week!

You anglers are a card...in a good way funny. But, seriously I just wanted to share this info and link to his funny videos with fellow anglers because it may help others like myself (that need all the help I can get) to land our dream big one. Sorry if you thought of my post as a shameless plug (I could see if it were Gregg posting it, but it's me). Hope to see you all on the water soon.

And me is whom exactly? You have a non-descriptive screen name, your first post here is a plug (pardon the pun) for Gregg's videos, which are a commercial for his Z-Plugs... not sure why you'd expect any different. I suspect it may get worse before it gets better, once those at work (at least those not surfing during daytime hours!   ) have a chance to respond.

I've got nothing against Gregg or his lure - don't know him and haven't tried them out (nor do I plan to), but the circumstances of your post are suspect.

I've offered my apologies once and won't do so again. I'm new to this site and if anglers here don't want me to share info that's out there, I'll gladly refrain from doing so. Again, I just thought the Funny Fishing video was hilarious and wanted to share a good laugh, not a suspected commercial.

Now on to other matters other than the unmentionable touchy topic ~~~~~, can anyone share with me some hot spots for southern california for this time of year. I'm a snowbird ( I know most hate me for it) from the midwest and would really like to take advantage of fishing in the warmer winter.

Thanks,

Gregg Silks

Post by palmdale-shane »

I don't want to get into the middle of this issue but Greg and his plugs aren't new and have been around for over 20 years. If you’re a member of WON then you've probably seen him on the cover a few times, if not just ask Rick Grover or Mike Gusti about the Z-plug...

Thanks Shane. It's great to hear it's not some new fly by night product. So, where are the hot spots around here this time of year?

Perris Lake, 9:30 am - throw a swimbate on a gut feeling towards the middle of nowhere and catch a donkey, this fishing thing is easy...

this is an accurate account

No threat, I'm just a snowbird geezer here from the midwest and not some trophy chaser. Never competed in a fishing tournament my entire life and don't plan to start now, but thanks for the direction to where they are biting.

So if you guys really think this is Greg spamming why aren't you asking if he is going to ramp up production to support demand? No one can really keep them in stock since only makes a small amount of them a year. I've fished with Greg before, he's not one to come on this board and try and create a buzz, his product is good enough to speak for itself and he'd rather be fishing. Granted it's been a couple of months since I was in there, but Anglers had been out for sometime. I fish them, I think they work very well.

Good luck all you fellas on your upcoming tournament. Please share your stories and photos with us all when you get back on the forum. I for one look forward to seeing them, and hopefully sharing some of the fish I've gotten at DVL this past month, but I still cant seem to get them from my camera to my computer (old farts have those problems, unlike you young fellas).
