ALL RAMPS CLOSED AT OROVILLE !!!!
Until further notice from DWR all ramps are closed at Lake Oroville. They are saying until the water rises 5 feet, but I will post if and when they get an alternate ramp open.....Looks like it is clearlake this weekend......

According to Oroville Outdoors, the Bidwell ramp will open at 1500 hrs today, that's 3 PM for all you civilians. I'd call to make sure before hand.

Any word if Bidwell will be open this weekend? Saturday? I'll probably give Orville outdoors a call tomorrow and see what they know. If I hear anything I'll be sure to post.

Re: ALL RAMPS CLOSED AT OROVILLE !!!!
Got an e-mail from Eric See, DWR this am. This was their press release in the Chico Record.
"Due to the low water levels at Lake Oroville, all of the paved boat
ramps have been temporarily closed. The California Departments of Water Resources and Parks and Recreation have prepared a temporary low water launch site at the Bidwell Canyon Boat Ramp to provide for boat launching and recovery until the reservoir refills. This site will be ready for use beginning December 14, 2007.
Once the Lake Oroville water elevation climbs to 700', the Spillway Boat Ramp will be re-opened. When the water level rises to approximately the 705' elevation, the Bidwell Canyon and Lime Saddle paved ramps will be re-opened. Lake Oroville elevations can be obtained by calling the DWR Lake Conditions Recording at (530) 534-2307, or on the web at: http://www.lakeoroville.water.ca.gov/ab ... levels.cfm.
Be advised that the launching conditions are subject to change due to weather, changing lake levels or other variables. 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Specific information about the daily launch conditions can be obtained by calling the California Department of Parks and Recreation at: (530) 538-2200.
The 10 day forecast says 3 inches of rain next week; hopefully that will be enough to turn things around and get us back on the paved ramps."

Thanks Jay. I guess I'll give it a try this weekend and see how it goes.

I talked with DWR this morning. Same as what Jay said. He said the gravel ramp should work for club tourneys. There is plenty of parking. He wasn't sure if there was a dock. Anyhow, it sounds like we're in business.
