Hey Ricky,
Do you know if William(Bill) macaninch is fishing the stren this year? I haven't spoken with him in some time. he's my old fishing partner from Arizona.
Hopefully I will be fishing the Stren circuit in a year or 2

Lance,
Are you fishing in the front or back of the boat? This will be a great event. How are you enjoying that new Ranger?

I am leaving this Friday. Weather calls for snow and rain. They should call this tournament the snow bowl. I'll fish the WON Bass and the FLW. Hope I can find some fish. Shasta has been good to me.

Jasper,
Sorry but I don't have an answer to your question.

Ricky,

Im fishing the back, I'm just not ready for the front yet especially at Shasta. Last year I fished the WON event and had my butt handed to me, It was my first time at Shasta and wasent experienced with Spots or Darter Heads. Ohhhhh but things will be different this year, I have the supper secret worm. Never the less, I cant wait, it will be a good test of my adaptability.

I love my Ranger and everything about it. Anglers Marine did a really clean job on the setup and I havent had one problem with it. Although the wife is embarresed sometimes, she says I look like a walking billboard

Lance-Secret worms

Come on buddy, we all know those spots will eat anything wiggled in the water. Shasta is a worm fishermans dream come true.

I've never been to a place (well maybe except for Oroville) where you can expect to catch a fish on every cast with a different color worm each cast. That place is loaded with fish.

I fully expect to run out of my favorite color worm. 40-60 fish days are the norm up in those parts my friend. Maybe I'll draw you so that I can see your top secret bait

My Pro last year laughed at me when he asked me if Ive ever fished for Spots. "How many worms did ya bring Lance" 2 packs, I said. He broke out in this larger than life laugh. I told Bill that I'm still claiming "new guy" status

can't be more right on with shasta being a worm fishermans paradise. i went last year and only took 4 spinning rods, two with dshots and 2 with darters. one box of 6in. worms and some spare darters and one box of 4 in. worms and spare dshot hooks and sinkers. never the less i came back with a top 30 finish, money back for the entry fee (thats all me check was) and two boxes of empty worms! it seems like those spots really tear a worm apart also, for me if i catch 2 fish on a worm it is a miracle. wish everyone the best of luck and make sure to dress super warm! i just ordered some new waterproof shoes with 400 gram insulate stuff in them. i figure they should be better than the DVS's i wore last year. take care.
