Yo-zuri is your closest ones if you can find them. Really good plugs, but not as good as the lucky craft. The yo-zuri suspendings work just like there pointer 110 and stuff. But a replacement for the stacey 90 is like trying to replace a kids puppy you just ran over.

My favorite, although it does not run as deep, would be the Megabass Ito Vision 110. IMO, one of the best rip baits available. They are pricey and can be hard to locate.......

Stacey 90 is a hard bait to replace. As mentioned the Megabass ITO 110 is a oustanding replacement if I had to pick one. Yes very pricey, however easy to get on ebay. I have been using the Megabass ITO 110 in pro blue color, The Stacey 120 in pro blue, the Slapsick up higher in the water colum, and Smithwick Rogues are also great. Fish the lures you have the most confidence in.

Don't do it!

I'm cheap, I'm always trying to pinch pennies and get a bargain..... but I'll pay $15 a bait all day long for LC rips.... Stacey's, Pointers, DD Pointers.

How bout this...... It's a Japanese culture thing to replace baits (along with other stuff) frequently and thus baits that are only slightly used get re-sold cheap..... A buddy of mine went over on business and bought bunches of slightly used LC baits for $3-6 a piece.... if'n u got the hook up,, otherwise just pay the MAN.

I'm pretty frugal myself. It's like buying tools as far as I see it. You can opt for that wrench that might let you get away with a couple of turns, before your knuckles are bloody.

Or you can get a proven winner that will perform better and more consistently.

Which is the better buy?

Yo don't do it!!
Skeet Reese and Gary Dobyns will hunt you down like a wild animal!:  Here's what I do so you don't have to buy more, I have bought only 2 in 15 months, you may think this is crazy but I don't care! Wear swim shorts in the worm water months and have a pair of reef walkers in your boat at all times, if you happen to get hung up and you really can't get it loose, its time to get wet!!! I had to go in 2 times last year but who cares I swim all the time off my boat in the warm weather months. In the winter its a dif story, I use Stacee 90's at Clear Lake all the time and get hung up only in the toolies but I just raise the old 175 merc and go in after them. When I am fishing by the toolies I use 12 lb line so I never loose them. Again you may think I am crazy but I use my 90's all the time and still have the 2 I bought. P.S. I got 50+ in one day at Clear Lake my Buddy Kam that lives there got 75 in my boat the same day on the stacy 90. I don't use braid when ripping but I would use it before I would switch.

I 100% agree.

Unless you're making your own handmade baits I would pay the extra cash for quality baits that just flat out work.

"You get what you pay for" just about always applies to fishing tackle be it rods, reels, line or baits.

And David why not just use a lure retriever ? They have gotten back many lures for me from the clutches of the rocks on the bottom of Clear Lake....in fact since I picked up this tool I have yet to lose a LC or Megabass hardbait.......

Im a staycee nut...Ive caught more fish on that lure than just about anything else I got other than a robo worm maybe...but...river 2 sea does make a deep diving jerkbait that does compare..cant think of the name...but if you look youll find it...dives to 8ft and its a jerkbait...runs about 9 bucks or so I think...just dont use it as much as Ive bought so many staycees now I dont use any other for that application..great bait ...decent colers ...give it a shot

Jackall does very well at picking up a few extra fish, however if you are looking at saving $$$ they are priced about the same.

I am as cheap as the next guy, but with Jerkbaits it is not like you are dragging them through rocks. Jerkbaits seem to last me a long time, then again....maybe I am doing something wrong?

You wanta talk cheap, I went down 35 feet in folsom lake last year in 48 degree water after a triple trout. And I would do the same for anything lucky craft. I need to get a lure retriever and quit this bird dog crap.
