Has anyone tried these yet?

Post by Alton »

Stuart at Phil's turned me on to them and they are sweet.

According to Stu, Phils is one of the few that have them on the left coast.

First time I have seen them

Looks like they are trying to compete with the Sweet beaver. Looks like it would be a good flip or drag bait.

thanks for the heads up Alton

I've tried

I got some and they are a cool bait, but not better than a beaver in my opinion, at least for flippin, I still prefer the beav. I just flipped with it so far, haven't used it for dragging and only tossed it in the delta, not any lakes yet. It does get bites and I have a few favorite zoom colors so its nice to have them in something that goes through the heavy stuff without sticking like the brush hog tails do.

What could this bait possibly do that a brush hog cant.

Just something slightly different I suppose, and since we dont know what bass think, maybe just a subtle little tweak to a baits appearance will make a difference. I dont know. I got enough other creature baits.

Steve,

The difference is supposed to be that they come through heavy cover easier. They don't have all the curly little sticky leg thingies :?

I haven't tried them yet as the fishin' tackle budget is currently depleted :( and I am trying  not to buy any new tackle

In Stock

Post by BB »

Just a quick heads up. Walton's in San Leandro has them in stock. I was there on Saturday and he received a large shipment of them in approx 10 or 11 colors. Give him a try if you are in the vicinity.

Cheers,

Looks like a great bait but I still think the sweetbeaver is better. I think I'll try them though. Thanks for the heads up.

They work great! Amazing what slight changes in old baits can do for ya. I've been throwing them on Carolina rigs and just flat killing them on it.
