How bout them Cowboys? And I'll say it again this year...

Post by Cooch »

Romo is a slug. And as much as I've takin' a liken to TO and his somewhat graceful maturation this year, that cryin' crap was WAY over the line during the post game interviews! He took it like a man, then fell apart like a lil baby! Course, I'm sure all you Cowboy fans was sheading those same tears! HAR! HAR! HAR!

So easy to be a hater...

Post by Bob Simard »

Your serious huh? How many did we send to the Pro bowl?

Doesn't mean squat now - I get that.

They're a young team and played like it. While not at all happy with the way it turned out.... this team has more upside than all but a few - next season.

Oh - and I'll be looking for all you brilliant prognostications about how bad the Cowboys are going to be BEFORE and DURING the season, rather than when it wraps.

Hell with this type of sports awareness - you must be a rich man from all the money you won betting against Romo and my Boys this year.

Dang right I'm serious. This self proclaimed "America's Team", made me a Cowboy hater many, many years ago! It's fun rootin' against em! But I love that Barber kid! He's been on every single Fantasy team I've owned the past 4 years! He's a stud!

Problem with the Cowboys is, they are young, and they had two of the greatest oppurtunities the past two years ta git-r-done and flopped when it counted most. The rest of the NFC is catching up, it ain't gonna be so easy for em the next couple of years!

No my friend, with my sports awareness, this season I made a TON of money betting against the Dolphins, Raiders and Niners!!!!! I surpassed that all in one game this weekend, by taking the Giants and the points! HAR! HAR! HAR! HAR!

Well, I was at that game, and while I must say I wasn't happy with the outcome, the experience will be something "MY SON & I WILL NEVER FORGET". Those folks know how to "Tailgate" before hand. The whole lot smelled of all kinds of meat from Brats to Filet Minon!! I agree with what Aikman said " Maybe Romo should have taken some of the other players with him to Cabo". Crayton, I counted 4 dropped passes & one punt return that was nearly a fumble (good thing he covered it). Barber was GREAT, defense kept them close, recievers Glenn & Owens not much of a factor, and Whitten didn't really get going until it was too late. 4pt loss will "STING" this year as did last year, but we'll be in the dance next year as well. Like Kanye said "That that don't kill you can only make you stronger". I'll venture to guess there's a few NINER fans that remember when they were KILLED by the Giants!! As for the Faiders, it must be tougher knowing that you haven't been to "The Dance" in years!! COOCH, betting against your own team, I'd NEVER think of it!!!!! :? GO COWBOYS for 2008, and in 2009 the new Arlington stadium will be ready. Already "SOLD OUT" for 09!! Try acomplishing that, and then we'll talk!!! 8) 8)

Again, I'll be looking for those predictions come late August 08 - versus January after the fact.

Betting against those teams you made money... Really? That's bold. Took a real genious. If you made straight up bets you lost money. The Raiders actually did well covering on a few choice occassions.

As to the America's Team. You may hate them, but I can garaun-damn-tee you every Network exec exec with skin in the game gave a collective "oh CRAP!" when they lost. Why? Because America tunes in when they're on. And no, not all those tuning in are doing so for the mere fact of hoping to see them get beat (for those that do - you've got a pretty freakin sad life).

Root for something / someone - live positive. You'll live longer (and happier.)

Great memory for you and your boy.

For a Cowboys fan, been a diehard since 71', Texas Stadium is a special place. I'll be sorry to see them move to Arlington. I haven't made a playoff game yet - I bet the tailgaters were smokin! I'm taking my boys (8 and 10) to 2 games next year.

Tough game - 3 visions I can't get out of my head.

1. Ware jumping offsides to keep NY's opening drive alive.
2. Romo missing a wide open TO high for a TD
3. Crayton dropping that pass in the 4th to pick up a 1st down (with all that running room in front of him)

Going to be a long offseason. Not as long as the last one though. This team has the all pieces - and Jones will do what needs to be done to keep them. They'll be back strong in 08.

You forget those who are like me, a Redskins fan. See I lead an EXTREMELY happy football life rooting for two teams, my beloved Skins and WHOEVER is playing the Cowgirls. Happy as clam yes indeed. :D :D

Ohh and I NEVER tune in to watch the Cowgirls unless they're playing the Skins or it's the only game on. (I watched Sunday cause the wife is a HUGE Giants fan....)

Hail !!!

Not the same thing.

Hell, I still root for whomever is playing the Cardinals and they haven't been in the NFC East forever. And yes, I always root against the Giants, Redskins, and Eagles. Why? Because their loses benifit my team - the Cowgirls? (It take you long to come up with that zinger? ouch!)

We haven't had the success like this year since the mid 90s. Yah - they choked in the end. 2 years running, sickening endings. Can't feel to bad for Romo though knowing what he's waking up next to.

Good news for us fans of the Boys' is they'll be back next year pretty much intact! Bad news though for the Redskins.... wonder if they're talking to Jason Garret yet?????

Heh.

We shall see. I certainly hate the Cowgirls (not as much as the Yankees mind you), but I respect good football teams and the 'Girls had a good team this year. They've clearly had better teams in the past and I know I am personally hoping they NEVER return to those days

I never thought I'd say this...but I was actually OK to see Joe Gibbs leave this year. The last few seasons it seemed like he was struggling quite a bit, almost as though the game as he lived and breathed it had moved on and he hadn't kept up. Which was clearly the case, IMO.

HAR! HAR! HAR! That musta felt like sticking yer bare foot in yer buns with 27 day old honey! Still trying ta pull it out huh Coral! Now correct me if'n I'm wrong, I do believe the Raiders made it to the dance, a LOT more recently than the Cowboys, and with 1/3 the team! HAR! HAR! HAR!

PS. Glad you and the boy had a great time. It was at his age my gramps introduced me to the NFL and I've been a big fan ever since, even though I had ta stoop real low and choose Silver and Black as my blood! HAR!

This is funny Bob! If ya do a lil internet searching, you'll find out two facts, over the past 30 years, it is the Raiders, who have the highest TV rating in the NFL. And it is the Raiders who have the highest gross of merchandise sales. And yes, those of us who dial in to watch the Raiders win or lose, are the most pathetic fans on the planet, simply because there are more of us! HAR! HAR! HAR!

ROMO a slug?? That's a good one!! Guessin I'll take "The Slug" over the "Benchwarmer" (Culpepper I believe is his name) any flippin day of the week!!! Back when I was living near the bay area (about 6 years ago) the FAIDERS couldn't even sell thier stadium out to prevent a "blackout" on TV. Have things changed any recently or do you have to puchase an NFL pack in order to watch your game?? :? Last I looked this past season, I didn't miss a regular season game + playoffs. THEY WERE ALL ON NATIONAL TV!!! 8) Another tidbit of info, for the upcoming 2009 season at the new stadium in Arlington,Tx, tickets are "SOLD OUT" in advance. My guess with the current status of both bay area teams, that won't be happenin anytime soon!!!
