Update from the Heavyweight Bass Classic

Post by Gator »

50 anglers and Volunteer Tournament officials launched in less than ideal weather at Lake Casitas in the inaugural HeavyWeight Bass Classic.

We are starting to get phone reports from anglers and there is already a 10 plus that has been caught, as well as several fish over 6.

I will be posting updates as they become available throughout the day. A Realtime leaderboard will be available starting at the beginning of the weighin, which starts at 2:30 p.m. - at HeavyWeightBassClassic.com

That has to be some tough fishing weatherwise right now. I am surprised the anglers even made it to the lake.

Who caught the 10+ ? Sounds like the fish are cooperating so far and it's still real early. it's too bad there won't be streaming video of the weigh-in.

Thanks for the updates Gator!

It is noon and we do not have any significant updates to report. I don't know if the bite has slowed down or if the anglers are being a little tight lipped!!

Yeah, Gator was claiming a ten and numerous 6's. What I can't believe is people actually weighed in fish under 2 pounds!

That isnt a very nice thing to say. Isnt it a two or three day tourney? That two pounds could help some one out. Why would you say something like that? There is never a need to monday morning quarterback somebody.

Joe and all - this event will also qualify the top 20 automatically for the next event - so there was a reason to weigh them....That 1.19 at the bottom guaranteed him a spot!!

Look at my post above yours, you had no idea what tourney this was and now you're acting like you're a know it all.

I already stated that I mean no disrepect, and I didn't know that the top 20 automatically get in to the next one, AND NEITHER DID YOU!

I'm alittle disappointed in the results, I hoped they would be better. It must of been really tough.

No problem, that's all I was trying to do in this thread was give updates to you and anyone else not able to access the HBC site. The comment about the two pounders wasn't meant to offend anyone I was just surprise that two pounders made it to the scale.

You didn't offend me!! I didn't expect to see anything under 5lbs show on the scale. But then I din't really know about the top 20 deal either.
