Post by TEAMDEADMONEY »

His name wasnt in the results. Was his boat NOT allowed on the lake because of rediculous new rule??

He withdrew a while back.

I know you like fishing Casitas once in a while and as far as that ridicules rule you are banned for 28 days from fish there. How do you like that?

What if DVL decided that if you have fished San V you have to wait 28 days before you can get back on DVL? If you decide you want to go Perris tomorrow you can't because you fished one of the lakes on the banned list. You have a 28 day quarrantine before you can get on another lake. OK that's not how it is right now but it can very easily be that way soon. Perris is not on the list but think about that.

That rediculis rule is going to bite us right on the @ss!

John, help me get up to speed on this. I understand the 28 day rule, but how can the folks at Casitas prove that Kerr's BOAT was in San V? Obviously they can look at the tournament standings and see his name that he fished that day etc, but what if he used someone elses boat? Its like you and many others said, this is utter BS.

That rule did have something to do with it, obviously it made it a little more difficult for John to get on the lake then the rest of you guys. But John has also never been on the lake before, he had arrangements to use another boat for the tournament but some other circumstances kept him from getting up there as well.

He actually started to drive up there last week without a boat just to check the lake out, he just wanted to see it at least once before the tournament but the traffic was so bad he couldn't make it up.

Yeah John that 28 day thing bites...

As Tim Duncan would say.."Its retarded".

I think John would have had fun at Casitas and maybe done well.

It wasn't San V that kicked his boat out it was Pleasant. Pleasant was just added to the quarrantine list. Justin had been practicing at Pleasant within the last 28 days.

You two are talking about different Kerr's

John Kerr withdrew, why I don't know..Ask him

Justin Kerr could have easily lied about being on Pleasent, but showed great integrity by being honest. I have the utmost respect for that honesty...And the utmost respect for GaryCollins for stepping in and loaning his boat to Justin.

You're right I was talking about Justin not John. John droped out of HBC a long time ago. Sorry my mistake.

If anglers start lieing the next step would be total closure. While the 28 days does seem excessive, the best thing to do is to support it and work with the powers that be to ensure effective and appropriate policies are put in place to control the spread. We start lieing and we will only make it worse.

28 days is extreme and we are presenting to the board reasons to drop that to a reasonable time frame. It does not help though when people show up with water in their livewell or their bilge plug still in. Everyone needs to get in the habit of draining livewells and bilge. That's the way our life is going to be if we want to go fishing.

If it's raining, you're probably going to get water in your livewells on the way to the lake. I did, in spite of wiping and drying them out thoroughly before leaving the house on Wednesday. They were NOT going to let me through the gate. I myself will start travelling with towels in the wells to help absorb any accumulated water, and will stop and wipe them out once more before approaching the gate.

As far as the drain plug goes... when I first got my boat, I got in the habit of opening the plug once I hauled out, then reinserting it when I attached the trailer straps. I've now left it open, but have to get in the habit of screwing it in before launch... hard to change routines when you get old. Fortunately for Dave, its a Ranger... I forgot to put the plug in when we launched on Saturday and we ran all day with the plug out!
I'll try not to do that again...

"John droped out of HBC a long time ago."
Actually, John withdrew from the HBC on the Friday before the tournament, not a long time ago.

I just spent 3 days on Casitas. Day one, filled out the form, guy at the gate checked wells all was good, I told him I would be fishing for the next two days and he said NO Problem. Day two, show up at the gate, the same guy says "show me the yellow sheet" which he "did not give me the previous day" had to fill out another form he checked the wells and this time got the yellow sheet. After a few morning hours of fishing I went back to the motel to have lunch and rest up for the afternoon after being pounded by rain. Came back for Day two afternoon and showed the same guy my yellow sheet and he said "we are no longer accepting that sheet, there's a new one you must fill out  . So I filled out the new sheet and he checked my livewells and I got in for the rest of the afternoon. Day 3 I finally got it right, showed the same guy my yellow sheet and off I went. SHEEESH....... :x This is overkill
