You know it kills me. I want to say, "See what happens when you don't stand up and fight, yeah lets just do what ever they tell us to do)"

But I cant, I mean noone gives a Rats Behind that the ships brought those mussels, noone is fining the ports that let them dump the ballast. No one is telling the ports to figure out how to fix the problem they allowed.

No they are going to kill the "anglers" that they feel caused all the problems. I posted some stats a while back, I would love to know what these idiots in charge of the Water are going to do when they see 2+ BILLION dollars in FRESHWATER Revenue goes away.

Im sorry but I don't think these officals care as much as they like people to think. I think they want to help their buddies out and in the meantime act like they are doing something so they can move up the ladder and when their "efforts" prove useless, the next guy is left with a S#@! sandwich.

All I can say is " Sorry to all the California Anglers" To think the big arguement of the day is where to hold the US OPEN  We should have it once a month at a different cali lake because it will be a mute point in a few years.

This is not a done deal as far as Lake Casitas goes. The water districts are acting out of panic at the moment.

Back in the 80's(when the mussels arrived) there were laws regulating the dumping of ballast water. These laws were never enforced by our politicians in Washington. Two years ago I started working with my state congressman and senator in Washington on this issue. They admitted that Washington had failed the public with the ballast water issue. With the discovery of the new deadly strain of VHSV in the Great Lakes they woke up and are just now starting to enforce ballast water regulations via the US Coast Guard. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT needs to cough up the money to help control this problem. If they can give billions of dollars to Africa for condoms that will NEVER GET USED, they can sure start sending money to the various states affected by these invasive species and pathogens. They can start with the funding of high
pressure boat washing stations in Zebra and Quagga mussel infected waters!

Im with you there. But I can all but guaran DANG TEE you that all that revenue from fresh water fishing AINT going to the DWF!! Its heading straight to other programs.

I dont think they need that egg broken. People are going to have some serious EGG on their faces when people are held responsible for not putting that money were it NEEDED to be put.

Look at Caddo. Texas is spending MILLIONS on fixing the problem of Giant Salvina. Thats ONE state, the problem is that there was no need to spend the millions in revenue on fishing or freshwater issues, that money was spent on something and it dam* sure wasnt ramps, facilities, stocking, or parks.

Well you have chance to do something about changing some of the legislatures in Sacramento who make decision on what money goes to what program. In 1990 we Californians were fed up with career politicians and we passed Proposition 140 to limit Assembly members to three, two-year terms (6 years) and State Senators to two, four-year terms (8 years) for a total of 14 years! Well the time is coming up for a lot of them to get out of office or to try to run for the other house.

So their are pushing Proposition 93
Promoters are spending big bucks to fool you into believing that it would actually have the effect on limiting terms, rather than extending them, they are telling you it would reduce limits to only 12 years and it does. It allows them to serve in the same house for additional term where they have done all the damage with their decisions on what money goes to what program. So if a legislatures was in the State Senator for two term and you vote yes for Proposition 93 he/she would get to stay other term to make 12 years. An Assembly member would stay six two-year terms.

And, adding insult to injury, they are going to put taxpayers to the expense of a third election this year—you didn’t really think it was about the race for president—so if Prop. 93 passes, they can be set to run in the June primary.

So what we have is a lot of Senators are now on their last term because of the two term limit, don’t let them stay! This is Election Fraud.

Will it change the closing of Casitas (if it closes), not today but we know the ones in Sacramento will not help us – let us get some new blood, be it Republican or Democratic.

The report for up north is one that the California Bass Federation is dealing with to educate the policy makers. We don't know what the future holds, but education will hopefully change things. Unfortunately decisions are being made without the knowledge and we hope to change that.

In the meantime, all of us Southern Californians need to do our fair share to be Clean & Dry upon entering any of our local lakes. We need to show that we care and will do our best to prevent the spread of the mussel.

Stickers will be available at your local tournament, tackle store and boat store. Please pick one or two up and put them on your tow vehicles and trailers.

Thanks!

Im all for cleanand dry, but you guys can't it lying down, you need to get up there and fight. Show them the $$$ and when they realize what they are going to lose from fishing they will back off and go after the solution.

But the easy way is do what they say every time until you finally have no place to fish.
