WESTERN BASS NEEDS TO BE WATCHED 24-7 SEX CRAP

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SEX CRAP THAT KEEPS SHOWING UP ON WESTERN BASS AND SEEMS TO STAY THERE FOR HOURS AND HOURS BEFORE IT IS DELETED....WE NEED BETTER SECURITY I BELIEVE !!!!!!!!!

ITS STARTING TO TURN AWAY MY FAMILY. GRANDKIDS ETC !!!

Well fortunatly the moderators sleep too. I think the answer is to not allow your grandkids to be surfing the internet including westernbass.com between the hours of 9:00pm - 7:00am and it will decrease what they are exposed to.

As for the stuff that is posted it is quickly deleted once a mod is notified or comes on the board.

I guess Tony could put in that deal where you have to authenticate an individual passcode everytime you log in and out, then you would be complaning that you can not log into westernbass cause the passcode would be case sensative, and we all know you cant locate the Caps Lock button to save your arse

No offense meant to you Mr. Hawghunter !! Sorry about the caps, and yes I can find the button when I have to from pressure as yourself. Who started this childish thing about caps anyway. ? And yes I am sure Tony and all the moderators need their sleep or have to get up early and get on the lake or river to fish. Might take a look at this sight first in the A.M. ?? Na why bother. Seems it would offend someone to maybe shut this sight down a few hours a night ??? There's a thought ??

Jigs, I hope you understand that I was teasing about the caps, I have learned that it is the way you posted...just playin buddy. But really when the mods are here they zap that stuff. I usually shoot them a PM with the thread number so they can handle it.

If Gator or Tony wants I would volunteer to be on Slim patrol as I start work at 6:30-*700am.


But come on this is not a westernbass.com issue, the perps are the issue. And again, I dont let my children surf the net unless I am there with them on my lap directing them. but hey maybe I tend to overly micro manage what my kids are exposed to!

Na. you need to watch everything that kids are exposed to now days.....NO problem. I just thought it strange this had happened twicw now in less than a week !! As for me, I also could help on a part time basis. But for all of it, Western Bass is doing a great job and a applaud them , it's not easy.

These posts have been going on since well before the server change and will likely continue. Until there is a foolprooof way to delete spambots unfortunately there is nothing we can do other than catch them as quickly as we can.

Just an FYI, approximately every other day I delete over 500 spam accounts from the member registry. It is a daunting task and one that we are very aware of.

We are not on forum 24/7 - I was actually up until almost midnight and got up just before 8 and saw the posts regarding the spam. I looked but evidently one of our mods got it before me.

We are as vigilant as possible with this kind of stuff and take it seriously but we cannot prevent it completely.

Actually there is something we can do that would help to some degree with the most offensive of these post and that is eliminate the capability of posting photos in forum posts.

Of course that means that no one would be able to post photos to the forum anymore.

On another board that I belong to there is a button on the top of every post that says "report this post to a moderator" For stuff like this it is very useful. The only problem there is that some of the members take advantage of it and report each other for meaningless bs.

Greg - Thanks for the heads up - ignore my PM's - I couldn't wait so I went out and found the mod - it is installed and I confirmed that it did work - I have the time of install as 3:00 p.m. today and I will check the user logs to see if the bots have been put at bay.

The Mods are doing a fine job, I don't think anyone is questioning that. Its just that they can't watch the forum every second of every day.

As for giving the kids the tools to deal with stuff like that...thats all fine and good, but I think most parents would like to work on their own time-table, not those of the porn merchants.

Anyway, it sounds like Gator and Greg may have found a solution, so its a mute point.

I told Gator about a board mod that requires and extra step in registering. Now you have to click a link to get an authorization code, return and enter that authorization code. Robots don't know what to do with this and the people that are hired to fill these in by hand can't follow instructions in English.

If you click on your memberlist link at the top of the page, set your sort like this: and click sort.

Watch the difference in new members between Jan 31 and Feb 1 tomorrow. You will see a marked difference. One will still get through once in a while, but not to the degree it has been.
