I have been lurking in and out of the website keeping an eye on whats happening back there.
This is very sad not just for y'all but for others who know that lake is a big fish lake. Hank Parker did a 2 part show there. There have been many big pros who have come and "fun fished" the lake.
But perhaps if they do close the lake it will only be temporary, and that will allow those big fish to get bigger, and multiply placing their big fish genes in the lake.
I sure hope this isnt a case of what Ron C often says is "water is for fighting for". Water is like gold there in California. Farmers are giving up farming to rill wells and sell water there is so much money in it for them.
We here in Ga got a slight glimpse of water woes with our drought. One of best lakes here Lanier is very low, peoples docks are sitting up on land now. For those getting on the lake fishing is dinamite, but most ramps are high and dry.
Again I hope this is only temporary.
Good Luck with the fight!
Sorry about the Mussle problem guys.

Hey Dave Thanks for the kind words.
I have heard and seen many pics of your water sit.
Santee cooper looks grim ...
Lanier looks low but I have heard you have had some water come as of late. I also heard about the snow.
We are all in this for the long haul because it is not just going to be Casitas we are going to go up against it will be most water districts until we get them to work with us.
We are not just out to keep the lakes open we are trying to find some positive sollutions for them at the same time.

Re: Sorry about the Mussle problem guys.
ya thats outrageous i cant believe they closed it down i never fished it but i always wanted too.
Re: Sorry about the Mussle problem guys.
The ironic part about this whole thing, Dave, is that this IS NOT a quagga mussel problem; it is a panicked, paranoid, knee-jerk reaction by the Casitas Municipal Water District Board of Directors over a CONCERN that quagga mussels could POSSIBLY get into Lake Casitas.
I have to go back to square one and point out once again that there HAS NOT been one single body of water infected with quagga mussels THAT IS NOT COLORADO RIVER WATER RELATED - NOT ONE! I also have to point out that there has not been a single infection in California that was caused by a boat - NOT ONE!
My point is that there is no need to put Catch and Release or vinegar into our bilges UNLESS WE HAVE BEEN ON A LAKE THAT HAS QUAGGA MUSSELS IN IT - and Lake Casitas, Lake Cachuma, Lake Piru, Lake Pyramid, and Castaic Lake DO NOT.

Re: Sorry about the Mussle problem guys.
I figured as much Ron. Its the same ole politics as usual back there Huh?
I researched the lakes infected and saw that there are none in the region.
Your right that it wont be just Casitas but all the Lakes.
Not trying to be funny or anything but your always welcome to hang out at my place amigo, perhaps we will head over to the coast and hook into some tarpon, and some Bull reds. We got them.
