Info on Manny

Here is some info on the services for Manny Nunez. Monday there will be a Rosary starting 7:00p.m. at the San Salvador Catholic Church just past the bridge going to Piru. The address is 4045 E. Center St. Piru 93040. 805-521-1077. Tuesday morning there will be a Mass at 9:00a.m. followed by a ceremony at the Piru cemetery. We will meet back at the Church afterwards. Many of us have already paid our respects to Manny in our own way. The next time you’re on the water and you think you feel a bite; it’s probably Manny messing with you.

I had the greatest privilege of getting to know Manny over the last couple years in the Castaic Bass Club. Manny was one of those guys that everyone wanted to be around. He could turn every situation into a laugh. On the two day camping/tournament trips like Cachuma he added a whole other dimension to the social complexion. If Manny was on the trip, you knew it was going to be more fun. I looked as forward to fishing with Manny as I did with any of the topsticks in our club, and it wasn't because he was super-talented as a bass fishermen. I say that to make the point that he was ALL-UNIVERSE when it came to the talent of living and enjoying life. I am forever envious of him and even more than becoming a great fisherman; I hope to be as loved by so many and so genuinely as himself.

It was good to see a bunch of the club members at Manny's Services yesterday. There were so many people there in attendance. Goes to show how much this guy was admired and loved by his fellow fisherman, friends, and family. I know he was looking down from lake above with a big fish in one hand and a coor's light in the other smiling down on us. I will miss the big guy! The fun times at cachuma with him making all of us laugh and just his silly goofy ways. I know when it is our time he will be there to greet us with open arms and a coor's light just like he did after each club tourney! The good times and memories none of us will ever forget!
