Art and others, I have just confirmed that it is indeed ILLEGAL to
have invasive species (Quaggas, etc) in possession in California.
Texas has strict laws regarding this, and they are enforced. Report
suspected Quagga sightings to the proper authorities, BUT DO NOT
COLLECT THEM! Even if you think they are dead! "Don't Move A Mussel".

Art

I don't think Lane knows that you work for MWD. She was just worried that you might get into trouble.

Art, I did not mean to offend you. When you first posted the picture, I assumed that you were a biologist for a MWD. After
reading other posts, I became concerned that my assumptions
could have been incorrect. I felt like it would be responsible to caution readers about the laws regarding the collection of ANS.

Even though we are scientists, here in Texas we are required to obtain permits through the TP&W and/or USFW to obtain or collect
ANS and other deadly pathogens for research. Again, I appologize!
