Help on installing Comfortroll on Ranger 519
Has anyone had experience in installing a COMFOR-TROLL on a 2003-2004 Ranger 519 series boat?
Any tips what to look out for and pics of the project would be appreciated
Jon

Re: Help on installing Comfortroll on Ranger 519
I installed my own Flat Foot on my Tracker.
The basic things to watch out for are underdeck wiring, front livewells, and structural cross bars that might run side to side under the front deck.
If you don't get what you need from the guy who made it, call Jordan at Anglers Marine. He can tell you if there's anything in the way.
Use the centerline of the boat to orient your cutout. Layout the hole with blue painters tape.
I don't know what your deck is made of, so I can't give any advice about which kind of saw to use, but, generally, a circular saw will put less stress on the deck material when you cut, as opposed to a jig saw or sawzall.
Try to move the unit as far forward as possible, so you have more space between yourself and the front pedestal. Kind of a personal preference deal. If you lean on the pedstal while you operate the TM, then position the unit so it's a comfortable distance for you.
Last, after it's installed, you can always raise the TM pedal if you need to by putting plywood spacers in the bottom of the unit. Just be sure they have some little furniture feet on them so any water can still drain out.
Good luck. Your back's going to love you.

Rob,
We'll start with your boat first and see how it comes out. Ha! Ha!

Jeff,
Can I start with your boat first for practice? It wouldn't hurt your boat if I made a mistake. Ha! Ha!
