Group trip to Amistad

Post by BTB »

We are trying to get a group together to fish Amistad.

John Cassidy and Stan Vanderburg will host the trip. We have about 10 interested so far but we just started this today.

It's about an 18 hour drive to Del Rio. Check out Amistad Resort at this website: http://www.amistadlakeresort.com/

I just got off the phone with Byron Velvick and worked out some of the details.

Date: Check in: April 27th - Check Out: May 1st Byron said that these are good dates so we need to get a room count as soon as we can because the resort will fill up.

Boats: There are guides available with boats, if you don't bring your boat and want to fly in to Del Rio. I am checking on this.

The price for this trip should be $250 to $300 per person and include: double accomodations, Breakfast and box lunch. Dinner and cocktails are extra.

We will have a free raffle and jackpots.

We are still working out details, so if you are interested let me know so I can customize. I am coordinating the trip.

If you have questions or suggestions let me know.

Byron will call the radio show this Sunday night (2/24) from the Classic and give us a report and some more details on the trip.

Sounds like an awesome trip. Thanks for putting this together. I talked to Byron @ the HBC and he mentioned something like this was in the works. I am VERY interested.

I need to know if you will drive there with your boat and if you want a guide for the first day or other days, or if you need a guide and boat when you get there and how many days you need a boat with guide. There are 8 or 9 guides that work on the lake. There is a marina that may have some kind of rental boats but I don't have any more information about that.

Byron will call in from North Carolina on Sunday night and we can ask then.
