CLEAR LAKE GUIDE

Post by KMAC »

Due to the possible closure of Lake Casitas, I have decided to try a few days at Clear Lake for this years spring vacation. I plan to fly up,rent a car etc. instead of towing my boat. Can anyone recommend a guide or two...preferably one that likes to throw swimbaits ??

We are blessed with a ton of good guides up here. My recommendations would be: Ross England, Bob Myskey, Richard Pounds, or Jim Dowdy. Anyone of these guys will give you an amazing trip on Clear Lake.

Thanks Guys, I do appreciate the props fer Clearlake. At this time, with KMACs request, time frame and my current schedule here on the Delta, I too would have to recommend one of the local fellas up there to fill his needs. Myskey, Munk, England, Pounds and Dowdy are all excellent guides up there that he could not go wrong in hiring for a couple a spring swimbait days on ClearLake!!!!

Jim Munk is a good friend of mine but if you want to do the swimbait thing I would recommend one of the other guys. Jim is not a big swimbait guy.

KMAC,
If Ross is available I would jump on it now. He is one of the premier guides on the lake.
Thanks,
Roger

I spent a day with Richard pounds last year. He is a great guy and knows how to put you on the fish.
Here is a link to his site.

I would also recommend Ross if he is available. I had the best time fishing with him last year.

I'm not so sure ya need to be a "big swimbait" guy, from a guide's stand point, to take a guy out who is a "big swimbait' guy, and put him on the fish! Jim know's that lake as well as any of us that guide up there! Lord Know's, I've leraned that lesson well here!

I would like to thank everyone for their replys and advice...it's been very helpful. I talked to Ross England last night and I was very impressed with his knowledge of the lake and his professional manner. We are in the process of locking down some dates.

Thanks again, Ken McDonald
