BASS Insider????

Post by Rob D »

I thought that all these fishing tips, news and information was supposed to be part of my BASS membership. Now they want me to pay more for the information they're holding back, what next BASS In-Insider for another additional fee to get the tips and info that they're holding back from the Insiders
Also, I don't think that us left coasters could be considered Insiders, we would be the Outsiders, Har...
Anyway I'm not paying more money to BASS, I have been a member for too many years to count and FLW doesn't even make you get a membership to watch their weighins live on the net.

thta thought this! In my opinion ESPN has done NOTHING for BASS and or fishing aside from the excellent new programming on saturdays. Now they are gonna let top finishers in the FLW fish the Classic???? WOW! And no surprise AGAIN they are holding NO major tours out here this coming year-instead they are gonna fish waters in downtown Norteastern cities-hey more power to 'em.I still have a HUGE problem with Busch beer and Cialis being sponsors-just gives the wrong idea I think. My wife and I talked with Jimmy Houston awhile back and he was telling us how he had actually signed up to start fishing BASS again...that is until they required him to wear the Busch patch-he refused and they not so politely told him thanks but no thanks. What a crock. I have nothing against anybody who does or doesnt chose to drink but banning him for his beliefs is BS. I understand all about the idea of sponsors and etc but I still think they have beached BASS on a huge sandbar! Just MY .02 worth! Tight Lines

you and your bro are passing up Clearlake and heading down the road to fish the river. Har!
As to your guys thoughts on BASS. I can just say that the suits are running Bassmaster and have no clue and no love for this sport. It's about the bottom line. I just hope they see it before it's to late.
I have talked with some people who fish the tour and I can say that they share your concerns and then some.

I give ESPN/BASS 3-5 yrs or maybe 2-3yrs and it will be up For Sale. By this time frame, FLW will be like BASS was under Ray Scott.

Just my opinion

that felt ripped off by the idea of paying additional for "Insider".
As far as I'm concerned, they can stick it as far inside as possible.
I'll save my money to feed the bait monkey and go fishing. It's like they're trying to piss fishermen off and chase them away from BASS. Pure genius!

Dang I miss the BUS AGAIN!

I recieved a e-mail explaining the same BS that BASS is passing on!
I thought to myself after reading it Hey what a rip off ! I pay my membership fees to get all this info they advertized and now they want more money for what was promised in the first place!

At this point I am thinking man I wounder if the rest of the people feel this is a rip off? I should post it on the fourm this could be a great positive thread, Then I thought no becuase I don't want to start a war having people thinking I was bad mouthing BASS after all they have done for our sport....... BLA, BLA, BLA. Sorry just thinking (I try not to do do much of that) But I am glad to see people do agree.

I don't even personally care about BASS that much. It is really still just a south east fishing mag.
If it weren't for the fact that membership is required to fish the tournaments I fish, I wouldn't be a member.

I only recently saw the Insider and how you need to pay extra for it.
I laughed. Cheap b@#$%&ds !

On the flipside, refusing to fish a tourney circuit because of sponsor requirements brings no tears from my eyes. I'd give both my family jewels for even an opportunity to fish for a living. And I'd wear sponsor patches from all the tobacco and alcohol companies! Hell, I might even wear one for NORML!

I am a huge sports fan, baseball in particular, and I will not go to ESPN.com any more. They have some very good baseball writers, such as Rob Nyer and Peter Gammons, which you used to be able to read for free. Slowly they have made almost all their columnists "Insiders" which you have to pay to read. It is BS if you ask me, and I am sorry to see it happening to BASS content as well but I can not say that I am surprised.

Bass Insider

My Grandkids are going to miss those neat stickers and free stuff BASS gives out every year. No "Insider" for me.

I'm in the same boat with everyone else. I will not be re-newing my BASS Menbership. I have fished in the Federation for a few years now. And with the changes in BASS and in the Federation I see it will be doing but hurt them. My money will go to those who really are supporting us out here ont he west coast.

Insider

Post by Dan Rechs »

I sent off for a free trial issue of Insider. It was good. I liked it because it had Mike Reynolds on the cover for winning that tournament in March (Beaver Lake?). Anyway, like everyone else I felt like having to pay extra for that was B.S. Two weeks later they sent me a bill for my yearly subscription even thought I didn’t order one. Three weeks later they sent me a threatening letter stating that I need to pay my bill.

I’ve gotten this from other magazines before. I just threw it away. I haven’t heard anything since. It makes me angry to think that some people send off for the “freeâ€

Bass Fishing Info.

Post by Wally »

Come On Guys. These guys that write and give us this information are priceless. I for one appreciate all the info. I can get. A couple of gallons of gas, A MONTH, is all it costs ya to receive the write ups that these people spend alot of time on. The 5 cent candy bars and 15 cent loafs of bread are gone. Give these guys a break for the time and energy that they spend on writing these articles, or soon you will be without any articles to read.

No wonder BASS stays away from the WEST. I never seen so many CRY BABYS as there is on this forum.

And you're all from the CITY, HAR

Let me have it from both barrels guys, cause after years on this forum I have seen more bashing of circuits no matter where they are from. I bet 99% of the complainers have never written an article for a magazine or fished BASS as a boater.

Wally ... Come On

You mean to tell me if you went to a car lot and picked out a nice new truck with all the upgrades and paid X amount of dollars for it but they had to order the truck , So you go to pick it up and its a different truck with no upgrades I think you would be alittle upset!

I am personally tired of all the HIDDEN stuff no matter where you go they say one thing and hit you with fees for another and we just keep taking it!!!

I have no promblem with paying for somthing when the real price is on the table at least at that point I have a choice to purchase or walk away.

If BASS want to start charging an arm and a leg for thier membership then just come right out and say it !!! I personally am not to happy with the publication it all pertains to southern waters and the only informative info they have on Western Tech is the info we get before them so I find myself reading the same BS. Why am I a member becuase I had to be to fish certain tournaments. Other then that I would have cancelled along time ago.

Bass as become no better then the WWF all staged antics ,drama,etc... As mentioned above its all about the bottom line now you just wait a couple more years and see where they end up it won't be good I bet, Unless somebody with a brain can step in and say WAIT!!!!!!!! what are we doing ? Beer as a sponsor? Come on why not get the Tobacco companies involved to ? Then my kids can grow up thinking its cool to go catch some fish and then have a beer and a cig afterwards. Sorry wrong message to send to kids. Alcohol kills just as many people if not more then Smoking at least when I smoke I am just killing myself but a drunk can kill himself and a car full of innocent people!!!

No I will have to disagree on this one BASS is going in the wrong direction. But who am I just a father of a 9 year old and a 5 year old. so again this is just my 0.02

I really don't think its a question of who has fished as a boater for BASS or who write articles. I think its an issue of supporting what you belive is right. Alot of us out here on the West coast feel slighted by BASS. Out west we don't even get to see a BASS weigh in. Besides the opens. So I really think the bottom line here is why give my money regradless of how much to an organization who won't support us out here. I would much rather put my money into an organization who support us out here int he west. And I'm not bashing any circuts at all. I have fished in a few different circuts including the BASS Fedration and I would not "bash" anyone of them. Or the folks running them. Just my oppion.

The State BASS Federation is running over 20 qualifying tournaments next season. I'm not sure if you do any research but that's substantially more then most states fish so I'm not sure what the trouble is all about Rouge.

They may be running 20 events...

but how many guys are gonna be left to fish them if no one renews their B.A.S.S memberships. Since a B.A.S.S. membership is required to be eligible to fish them.

Guys have been upset before but the subscriptions to BASSMASTER and BASS Times are more then worth the cost. I guess we'll see what impacts the tournaments when we get to them.

Tony I love the numbers we fished in the Federation. But the changes this year, not too sure I like. Some chamges were great but some on so great. Don't get me wrong California Bass Federation is a great organization. I fished in 4 different regions this year. Bottom Line is for me my money is going to support the organizations that support West Coast Anglers. Not an organization that calls themselves a National Circut but only competes as far west as TX. BASS is in my book is a regional Circut. Just my oppion.
