Re: dawia fuego casting reels??
Super nice reels but some of them have a lil prob w/the magnetic control or something to that degree I had heard and ironiclly I had one that would backlash on me very easy no matter what settings .. I also heard Daiwa will fix it.

I had the same problem with two of the three that I bought. I sent them in to Daiwa and they fixed them, no questions asked. But in my opinion there are better reels available that don't have that problem so you don't have to go through the hassle in the first place....can't go wrong with a curado!

Re: dawia fuego casting reels??
I have used the fuego for over a year now and they have performed flawlessly for me, I use them primarily for lighter baits like balsa cranks and weightless worms and they cast these light baits a mile. IMO they are much better at casting light baits than the curados...but for the heavier baits I would use the curados or the Advantage HSTA or zillion reels. Just my opinion and preference. Ron

I love fuegos. They are really light and feel good in your hand. By the way if you have problems with daiwa I think they have the best customer service around all of my problems have been taken care of very quickly.

Re: dawia fuego casting reels??
I have a Diawa Fuego and I have had trouble with the reel backlashing on me as well. It sounds as if something is broke on the inside of it. When it is working I love it but when it starts backlashing I want to through it in the lake.
Please don't get off !!!

Re: dawia fuego casting reels??
The problem you are having when the reel suddenly backlashes, is the metal insert on your spool for the magnetics, is out of place. The temporary fix is simple.
Unscrew the screw at the magnetic cast control and remove your sideplate.
Push the metal insert that sits on the magnetic brake system side of the spool, back into place......you'll hear and feel it snap in.
Put your sideplate back on, and you're good to go until it comes out of place again.
The only permanent fix, is to send your reel to Daiwa, and they will replace your spool with a new one, or order a new spool yourself, which will cost a little bit of money.
Hope this helps

Re: dawia fuego casting reels?? Viento is it!
Always wondered about the fuegos. I have 2 Daiwa Vientos. They are great. They are smooth and cast a mile. AND they have the twitchin bar which basicly reels your line in about 1ft to 2ft with the press of you thumb. GREAT for Jigs ect..... It helps me slow my fishing down and keep in constant touch with the bait easier..
