DVL CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 5, 2008

Post by Art H. »

I have been asked by MWD to inform everyone that DVL will be closed tomorrow, March 5th, 2008, for the entire day. Please pass the word to anyone who may be going there tomorrow, and who may not see this topic. Thank you for your cooperation.

I wonder who said that would be the case? Why and is it for just one day?

I heard that the yeti on the Matterhorn are feeding on them, so not so fast big boy! They are now going to be protecting the quagga and zebra mussels in Disneyland, and you'll be able to observe them on the newly-updated submarine tour.

What's the reason behind the closure Art? Or is it super secret stuff that would piss people off, so you can't say? Thanks for the heads up. Nothing about it on the DVL marina site. You saved me a trip. Scott

I was coming home from Lastchance last night and noticed a DFG truck screaming toward the lake and as I drove across Domegoni I notice a helicopter circling over the saddle damn area for quite some time. This happened around 5:00pm.

It is closed for Police activity reasons. That is all I can say. No Quagga bs. Rick G.

Major bummer

Post by Brian D. »

A bunch of friends (snow birds) from Wisconsin had a group trip scheduled and bought licenses and tackle just for this outing. Oh well. At least Skinner is nearby.

I heard that they found an empty boat. That would be very sad. Also, that it may also be closed tomorrow.
Good luck and God Bless to all involved.

Dive team driving to the lake this morning. At least that's what I think I saw, Pontoon boat with Sheriff star on it. Made a call to my bro but he could not get a hold of anyone with the 411 other than what was going on at 5pm yesterday. I'll forward any news if I get any. Rick do you know anymore?

Authorities searching Diamond Valley Lake
An unoccupied boat on Diamond Valley Lake near Hemet today has closed the lake and baffled Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigators.

A call came in early today about a lone boat on the lake, with no sign of a person aboard, said sheriff's Investigator Jerry Franchville. A dive team has been on the lake since about 6 a.m., but searchers are no closer to understanding what happened, he said.

"This one's kind of a complete mystery to us right now," Franchville said. He described the vessel as a "small fishing boat," but would not disclose any details about the boat's registered owner.

The lake is closed, with a security guard diverting incoming traffic at the lake's east entrance. Tim Skrove, a Metropolitan Water District spokesman, referred all questions about the mystery boat to the Sheriff's department.

Franchville said a full day of searching might mean the lake would re-open Thursday, but urged visitors to call there first.

"Hopefully, we don't find anything out of the ordinary," Franchville said.

Frank dont try to defend your tasteless comment by

Post by TEAMDEADMONEY »

downplaying the potential severity of this situation.

You made an insensitive comment...own it!

When there is the very strong possibilty that someone died, you should show a bit of respect. If it is determined that this is something other then the tragedy it looks like, then you can make your jokes. Until then the person in question and his loved ones dont deserve you trying to be a comedian.

Oh man that is terrible. I can not imagine the despair
this person must have felt to have been able to go
through with something like that. I hope they find
his body so his family can have some closure.

May we all be thankful for our own health and maybe
a little more understanding to those that might be
less fortunate in that regard.
