Casitas...The impact on WON, 100%, AC, and ABA

Post by Brian Linehan »

What's going to happen? Obviously, no more Casitas, Cachuma, Piru, and Pyramid tournaments. Is everyone going to go to an all Castaic circuit or do you think everyone from the North will start heading South or maybe to the river lakes?

The other lakes do not have the infrastructure to handle the increased traffic. They will most likely be forced to close as well.

The lakes down here can handle it. They should be licking their chops at the thought of more gate fee revenue....

Castaic is going to get hammered. It will set the fishing back there, for sure.
Geez, this stinks.
I hope the different tournament orgs. get together and work out something smart, so we don't kill the local lake we have left.
Maybe it will involve financial sacrifices in the short term, but it's better than killing a great lake in the long run.

There will be an impact that is for sure.
Piru is not going to close like most of you think.
Pyramid will not as well.
The only way they would close and this goes for Castaic as well. It would take the state water project to do something.
Those 3 lakes get there water from the project.
Piru get's it a different way but in the long run it is still state water project water.
Call me and I can explain it better.
I have been in constant contact with other lakes and I know how they are looking at this closure.
Yes they know they will get an influx of buisness but at the same token they are going to keep a close eye on how many tournaments they get.

Our lakes may be small and have goofy restrictions, but we can fish all night and man o man, there sure is some killer smallie action. As of now, ABA is the only game in town unless you head to Powell. What's next?

Now is the time to look into Salt Water Bass Anglers tournaments!
As Al says, these tourneys are some of the best run and most fun tournaments around, fresh or salt. And for most of us, the ocean is a lot closer than travelling to inland lakes. There are quite a few teams that have crossed over from freshwater and they are having a blast and doing very well. The raffles and free BBQ afterwards are second to none... come check it out, you won't be sorry..

No, that's a malicious lie being spread by Rocky Asbury. We would never stoop to that level and hold our prestigious TOC at such a small lake. This year, we have chosen Chris' Pond at nearby Santa Ana River lakes as our TOC site. No off-limits except for Levitz Corner and the bubble Hole.

Brian.... Why would you make the bubble hole off limits...
It is not marked off by the lake...

yeah, everybody freaking out just move out of California....that's the best solution.....what a joke....just simmer down, seems some of you are panic stricken. Yes it does suck, but quit whining and focus your fishing elsewhere....it's not completely over by any means. Let's not be so negative. BTW, Robert S is already looking at other solutions.....smart man!

The next 100% So Cal will be shifted to Tri-City Park, Brian I need you and Kyle to weigh-in early so you can help me shoo away all the mud chickens from the weigh station, and push those sailboat jerks off the point.

Gentlemen -

I take this as a complete insult!!!! WON BASS would never schedule a tournament on Legg Lake. We have more prestigious bodies of water in mind such as Laguna Lake in Fullerton, Eisenhower lake in Orange, and Yorba Regional Park along the 91 freeway. We'll hold our TOC at the grandaddy of them all, Puddingstone Lake!

Please don't leave us "valley" people out. We don't like to travel too far to fish anyways. We would prefer at least one derby at Reseda Park Lake and at least one at Lake Balboa. Perhaps our TOC could be at the Simi Hills Golf Course ponds. They are pretty phenominal in October...............

I'm out............

I just pulled a permit for Woodbridge south lake.
weigh in will be at the gazebo.
Off limits will be the island before sunrise, the rockpile in the corner.... too close to the house, and all pools in backyard as well as the clubhouse pool.

Are you kidding me, we have a huge lake with no restrictions and you can pitch, flip and chuck any time you want! You just have to put up with a little salt.
