What is San Antonio like this time of year?

Post by Big Ed »

hey guys;

Heading up to san Antonio from L.A. I saw the lake about 4 years agao. It was quite low water conditions with not a whole lot of timber in the water.

What would the conditions water temp be like this time of year?

Thanks; Big Ed!

Make sure the North end,shallow's,are open before you fish that end of the lake.They have been closeing it every year until May for the last three or four year's to help the spawn.

The back of Bee Rock and Harris Creek have been ok on Crankbait's.My Dad fished it last week and did ok there.You might as well plan on fishing for Smallmouth that lake is loaded with them now.With the good weather we have been having here you may hit it just right.

Shallows closed as of march 1st. Water temp 56 and up. Took 16+ lbs WON Bass teams on sat. A few limits of smallies weighed in. What wood.Fish were healthy. Some people I talked to saw nests. As the front came in at 10ish the bite shut off. The wind was bad.

We don't want mussles, so don't bring them.

I hear that the lake is starting to turn over now, and that there is a lot of slime floating around.But there is a decent amount of water in the lake still.

Clean and dry is the way I roll, not just for inspection.

Thanks for the water conditions!

Not at all! Its how we have to be from now on!

I wish there was more that could be done to stop the spread. I will do my part and stay "clean and dry" at all times. I also will not lie to any park or lake official by claiming my boat has not been where i say it has.

Its all part of the big picture!

Thanks; Big Ed!
