Who makes the best football jigs

For a football jig I like the Gann's Draggin' Jig for a couple of reasons, They've all got gami hooks, hand tied silicone skirt's (string not wire). The head design is more of a modified football....not quite as oval shaped and has a flat spot on the back of the head so they "stand up" nicely with a little bit of line pressure.

Although I've been more of a fan of their Pro Series Jigs (swim & grass head), I've been liking the Open Water football jig a lot lately. It's called the Ultimate Casting Jig. They come in colors you just can't find anywhere else. Check them out:

I really like the recessed line tie. It helps the wobble and tilt with less lift.

For bare, unfinished football heads I've been liking a regionally produced one by Head Factory (Sacramento Pro Tackle sells 'em). Yamamoto also makes great bare football heads, with and without wire weedguard.

Off the shelf, I prefer the Rodstrainers. Over all though, I prefer the custom hand tied football head jigs, especially if I can git a guy to build em with frog hair rubber!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used a bunch... from ones I've made to storebought. I have to say that the Gann's Performance Tackle jigs are some of the best I've seen, and the color selection is awesome.

Berserk jigs hands down. Like Cooch said frogs hair is a key. These jigs are made with frogs hair or you can have them made with the larger living rubber too. Made here in the central valley. Its nice to keep the money here in our area.

Looks like a majority of ya like to make your own or prefer another brand of custom made jigs. I think I wll have to try the bass patroll jigs, and at only $1.99 I wont mind as much when I span one off in the rocks.

Can't go wrong with a bass patrol. Cheap and very good quality. I pull out the weedguard with a pair of needle nose plyers when I'm fishing open water. They all catch fish... It's nice to pay 2.00 for a jig with round rubber and a good hook though.

Bass Patrol and River 2 Sea is the 2 I like. Bass Patrol's hook is a thin wire hook, good for deep water hook sets.But, on that not it is cheap and I have broken many hooks on fish, straiting out the hook and shearing it off. I still use them though because I just catch fish with them.

I have to agree with you on this one Mark. Bass Patrols hooks SNAP and in A tournament thats nothing but BAD
