St. Croix Swimbait Rod Question
Has anyone out there fished the new 7' 9" Heavy Legend Tournament swimbait rod? Will it handle an 8" rof 5 huddleston? Would it be good for lunker punkers or wake baits? Thanks for any feedback.

Re: St. Croix Swimbait Rod Question
I have last years version of that rod and it is an awesome rod...but the Hud's are a little too heavy for it. It's rated for up to 4oz baits and that is about as heavy as it can really handle. You can certainly throw them with it, but for the Hud's and heavy baits, you should go with the extra heavy rod. Hope that helps, good luck!

The extra heavy is best for a full- size Hudd, I use the heavy for Lunker Punker Jr. and 7" baits.(Also for LA Sliders).

Give Garret Charter a call at Kittles in Clousa. He will hook you up with the right rod.
Get hold of me.
I have a brand new 7'9" that I have never used that i would sell. Honestly, never used, in the garage.

Re: St. Croix Swimbait Rod Question
Like the rest of the gentlemen were saying, the mega swimbait rod is for the larger baits like the hud. The swimbait 7'9" is for the smaller swimbaits like Lunker Punker, AC's, 6" soft baits, etc.
