Casitas Rumor
Casitas Rumor
I heard that Casitas may open within a few weeks and they are going to take the same approach Cachuma did with the pressure washers. Can someone on here validate or dismiss this?
Re: Casitas Rumor
And Elvis will be working the gate and doing inspections. Hopefully someone is not pulling your leg and getting up false hope

It sounds like an April fools joke to me.

Re: Casitas Rumor
I have not heard that one as of yet, but lets all hope its true. DL, getting the lake opened back up is the first step and if they do it like Cachuma then most everyone should be able to fish it again. If you are from and infected area then I heard there will be a mandatory quarrentine of at least 14 days and that will slow down the approach, but it is a step they need to take. We all have to quit thinking about this as a my lake your lake thing and consider it a our lakes deal. I fish Casitas (when opened) the most because I was born in Ojai and I love the lake, I now live in the LA area (use to live in Santa Ynez, 7 miles from Cachuma), so Castiac is now closer to me. I don't want to see any lakes closed or anybody quarrentined from them, but in order for that to not happen we must all play by the rules they put on us. The clean and dry rules are good for everyone no matter where you are from.
Do you think Elvis will sing "love me tender" as we go through the gate if they re-open???

Most likely suspicious minds
I looked at this issue as "our" lakes from the beginning. While I have only been on Casitas a hadful of times, I knew where one closure would lead us, and officials are on said path now. While the lakes may be open to all comers, people like myself will choose to fish closer to home on lakes that do not have these rules in place. Since leaving my boat anywhere but my garage for 14 days is out of the question, I will continue to launch on lakes that do not have such stringent and seperatist regulations.
While I hope they do open Casitas, I am not hoding my breath...

Much better choice in songs. I, like you will not hold my breath for the opening...it would be very nice. I do kind of like the idea of a group of anglers who live close to lakes, inviting other people who live further away, but maybe close to another lake sharing or helping each other out. I have to think a bozo's like scumbaggerly can't beat a group of dedicated anglers. He may have the upper hand now, but in the end we can beat this....I hope. I do see your point though and it is valid.
Keep on fishin

Vote Elshere for Water Board
They are just about done with a program that will get the lake back open. Larry Elshere has been working on this program very hard and deserves the credit for getting it back open if it happens. It will be as restrictive as Cachuma if not more though.
