Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
It appears that those Elite guys are catching 50+ pound sacks out at Falcon Lake in Texes. Do you think that Kennedy's 4 day record at Clearlake last year will stand???

50 pound bags, whoa! haven't been looking at that stuff.
If they can do that twice, the records are gonna fall!

Well, all of the pre-tournament talk says it's the #1 Best Bass lake they have ever been too (Kennedy Included). And from the weather reports today and thru the week, I think the 1 day, 2 day, 3 day and 4 day records will be set. I spoke with Bobby Lane and he said it will take 50-55 pounds to make the top 50 cut with around 80-85 leading it (No Joke)..He thinks 122 is history, but he did say wind would be the only draw back to the large weight's. I cant wait for weigh-in...!!!

Your right, with no wind, Falcon will be hard to stop from breaking the clear lake record!

Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
was number 119 on the waiting list for the opens in the southern tour. last time i called b.a.s.s. i was number 67 next event. why didnt you fish the NG Mike?
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
It seems ta never fail, when they start all this hype about busting records, ole Murphy ALWAYS joins the gig and turns it around on em. Only time will tell! I like Ish's view, just say "No Way', and go fishin!BassketCase wrote:It appears that those Elite guys are catching 50+ pound sacks out at Falcon Lake in Texes. I think one other aspect may fall into play besides the weather that's not been mentioned or thought of. It does seem, that everyone is laying claims to catching 30-40+ pounds every day. Now on a typical lake where the fish population does not consist of so many giant bass, these Elite guys are very good and playing the practice game and not sticking a lot of fish. But the reports a speaking differently. And if these guys are all really pounding these giant fish, and I know even for them, they don't see fishing like that on a regular basis, they could hurt the areas and stick too many fish. Then come tournament day, they'll end up like the rest of us wondering what happened to all their fish. My guess is the guys you are not hearing about catching these giant sacks and fish, are going to fair far better than the guys who are catching 30-40 pounds a day during the 4 days of practice. NO WAY, can they catch 30-40 pounds, everyday, over an 8 day period!
Be cool if it happens, records are made to be broken and the potential will always be there with a few of the fisheries they frequent each year!
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
Nice start for Aaron Martens 42 pound sack!

a very nice bag with a 11lb kicker!Robert F wrote:Nice start for Aaron Martens 42 pound sack!

I will just bet the Kennedy's record will hold a lot longer than most believe it will. Murphy's law will come into play just when someone thinks they are going to bust it. Bill K

Fun fishing the country, each and every week.
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
Aaron says he can catch 30lbs a day regardless of how windy it gets and that if it wasnt windy yesterday he would of smoked Dean's one day heaviest weight record of 45lbs!Bill K wrote:I will just bet the Kennedy's record will hold a lot longer than most believe it will. If he comes in with another 30lbs or more today, its going to be hard to believe he won't break it!

Was hoping california would hold the record until the next time they decide to come out west again. By the looks of it though, its going to fall. Martins' got another 27 lbs to go with the 40 he had yesterday! And the day is not over yet. I'm thinking its going to take 128lbs to win, isnt that just sick! Time for a trip to Texas!
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
Brent where did you see that Aaron had another 27lbs?

Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
My 02 cents, I HOPE NOT... but I have been wrong before...har har.
Aaron will need a 26+ lb average the next three days to surpass the record.
I predict just under 120lbs for 4 days.

wow Paul Elias just weighed in 39lbs! 67 for 2 days! Hummm. records not going to be broken?
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
I think the real question is, will this Falcon lake give BASS the excuse they needed to not come all the way out to the west coast for the Elites?
Bryan Vogt..... Central Cal Bassin

im sure that city will be happy to pony up the money it costs to get b.a.s.s. to go there again.Bassin wrote:I think the real question is, will this Falcon lake give BASS the excuse they needed to not come all the way out to the west coast for the Elites?

79 pounds for Aaron for two days and Byron has 76.
The record appears to be on shaky ground.

They are both pulling their fish from the same spot... If that shuts off it could be safe. But it isn't looking to good thus far.
Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
79-13, you can just about round that up to 80lbs for 2 days!Quantum_Kid wrote:79 pounds for Aaron for two days and Byron has 76.![]()

Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
With the number of 20-25 lb bags coming in you can say lights out for the record.
Looks like we have a new record holder and I hope that they ware from the West.

Looks like the only record that might not be broken is Rojas' single day record. Kennedy and Velvick's records are going down in flames.g-man wrote:Damn!! bye, bye record. Almost 80 pounds in 2 days!! WOW!!!
Good to see two guys from Califonia show the rest of the world how big fish are to be caught.

Oh good grief! I guess y'all forgot who set the record at Clear Lake last year, huh? A southern boy, not a western boy! Give it a rest, first it's "we have the best lake". Now that it's proven that you don't it's "we have the best fishermen"! Give it a rest, we have good lakes and good fishermen and y'all have good lakes and good fishermen. This time it's the west. Last year it was the south, next year it may be the east and you can't overlook the yankee, KVD!

Re: Is Kennedy's Clearlake record going to fall?
That's part of the problem now a days. Everything has to be separate. Where is the good old United States of America ? What's with this Disunited states of america , north/south, etc. Are we not all bass people, who cares what part of the country and what color your skin. Only those that seem to not put it together and work for the common good. Everyone does not have to be a politician, do they? Bill K
