Spotted Bass on Nacimiento - a little help please

Post by king commander »

Ok, now I am a little ashamed to say that I feel I am basically a nimrod on the fine points of bass fishing. Not knowing any better I fish live worms off submerged islands or partially submerged islands, a troll crabkbaits (with low success, not zero but low).

What is the best technique this time of year? Shallow? Deep? Plastics? Jigs or just hooked (like wacky style?)

Going this weekend with my son and his friend, I can catch a few fish, but gaining some insight is always helpful.

Thanks

Well first off you are going to be fighting the wind. They are calling for very windy condition's Saturday and less on Sunday.

I was there last Tuesday and did pretty good in Bee-Rock and Las Table's pitching 6" Berkley Power worm in Motor oil right next to the floating dock's.You cant miss the one's in Bee-rock and the one's in Las Table's are farther back on your right going in.

Sound's like you more comfortable throwing crankbait's.I did catch three on a Fat rap along steep stuff. Not the stuff right accross the lake from the ramp a little farther down the lake on your right.

The narrow's had nothing,at least for me,and there were not any White Bass up the river so you may not want to run all the way up there.

Also if you like trolling try in Las Table's you may find some White bass.Alot more fun and they fight better than the Spot's.

Good luck hope this help's some.
