leaky livewell!!!! :(

Post by gonads »

My livewell is REALLY bugging me. it leaks like a bugger.
Yes it will fill when I am not moving, but as soon as i even go slow with the troling motor it will empty.
As we speak I am pullling the vlave out and am gonna inspect it. my guess is I will need a new one but i looked on E-bay and there are none. SO......... my question is WHERE CAN I FIND ONE ????
any help will be awsome thanks Brian

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I fixed it !!!!! I had just to take it apart and clean all the gunk off the flaps and they line up SWEETLY.
now it just leaks slowly LOL but that i can handle.
Thanks anyway. I know it should not leak whatsoever but at least i wont worry bout fish dieing on me now.

If you do decide to replace them call Marine Unlimited in Santa Rosa. Call Brant at 585-9717 he will take care of ya.

Or just put a plug in the drain hole.

I have the same problem with my Stroker. Ranger valves are nice and accessible. Like most other boats, Stroker valves are not. They are located under the gas tank. So changing them is out of the question. I just plug the livewell. When there is gunk build up, try back flushing the system. I did mine with air. Blew out alot of crawdad parts from those Delta fish.

What ever you do don't let your kids put rubber worms in your live wells, I was letting my 3 year old twins play with rubber worms in the live wells of my Ranger and forgot to get them out before draining the livewells and they got stuck in the pump!!! I got them out with a high powered water hose and clothes hanger:) The little 4 & 6 inchers came out no problem, it was just those extra large brush hogs!!!!
