I have taken 80 to 37 to 29 to Trancas to Silverado Trail and on to Red Bud, and have taken 80 to 505 to 5 to 20 and both seem to take about the same amount of time to get there although Silverado Trail is about 25 miles shorter. Is there a better route?
Which route do you folks take from Concord?
Thanks

I personally like 80 to 505 to 16 to 53? to 29. Took me 2 1/2 hrs to get there from my house!

Yeah, but I was towing the boat and it took me about another half hour than you. Plus, I din't get a ticket for doing 80 mph on the freeway!!!!

But really, I think taking 16 off of 505 to 20 West is a quicker, more direct route.

I go 80 to 37 to 29 to silverado also but my brother in law that lives in Clear Lake and drives from San Jose to Clear Lake every week does 80 to American Canyon and all the above after that, I have just never tried that but he says you will save about 5 minutes only, he has tried all ways, he has been doing it for 18 years and its the fastest. Like I have mentioned on a forum before I keep my boat at Clear Lake so I don't have to pull in there, its my most special magic lake

Dusty,
Traveling from Fremont to Clearlake I take 880 to the Richmond Bridge, 101 to 20 highways if I am going to launch at Lakeport.
This route takes 3 hrs and 15 minutes in the early mornings or late evenings (no traffic). It's a little longer in miles, but does not have the sharp turns and upgrades as going to through Napa 29 route. It's a pleasant ride and much easier on your tow vehicle.
If I am launching in Redbud or Southern end of the lake I will take 880, 80 to 12, 29 to Pope Valley road and then back to 29 to Clearlake. Pope Valley road is 8 miles longer but you don't have to deal with the upgrades on 29 and sharp turns. And takes no longer if not faster than traveling on 29 though ClearLake.
