Just about everything worked!!! - Thanks to you that helped

Post by Buzzbait »

Well, I had about the best fishing experience of my short fishing stint this last weekend. Thanks to everyone on here who helped me out with tips on technique and tackle.

Was on Oroville Friday and Saturday...and here's what happened....

1. Tried out the old skirted jigs...nothing
2. Tried top water....nothing
3. Put on a Margarita Masher rigged weightless....bang!!!
4. Tried Aaron's Majic rigged weightless....bang!!!
5. Tried Cronie's Crawlers in a Orange with speckle pattern, also rigged weightless....bang!!!!
6. Tried twin-tail senko's in craw color...bang
7. Tried green pumpkin tube jigs with a **** load of salt....bang!!

Got em rigged weightless in a Texas kinda position, then decided to try the wacky rigg and it worked too!!!!

Last but not least, when they stopped biting my plastics I borrowed some live nightcrawlers from a buddy (supposed to be for the Coho trolling) and rigged them up weightless in a Texas fashion...and they took them everytime!!!!!

Water was clear to about 10ft. All fish were in a small 1-2 lb range.

No bite on cranks or rip baits or top water.

Damn that was fun!!!! :D

It's funny you say that because that was kinda my goal for the weekend.

I have a tendency to stick to what works first, so this time I wanted to see what "all" would work. The only thing I didn't change up was location, which, I know, isn't that way it's done, but I knew there was a school holding in that spot so it was a good opportunity to try out different techniques where I was pretty sure there were fish to accept or refuse my presentation.

I was pulling them out all the way past dark!!!! The fastest bites came on the live crawlers, which surprized me a little. I was also surprized that I had no takers on pop-r's, buzzbaits, or spook baits because I saw plenty of jumpers feeding right on the top. Just no top water action whatsoever. :?

Very Nice Buzzer !

Chit's more than addicting Fo'sure !

DeltaLuke is now the DropShot King on the Delta ..... Thanks to Stinko~Guru  (his Delta ABA Partner!))

(( Stinko~Guru had been banned from here so I can smack talk him all I want now. )

Worms have been very nice to us as well lately -- and we are just now getting on a top-water bite when it seems the sun/shade and structure are allowing.

Saturday I have planned on a trip with my long time Bro that has never been fising on the Delta -- and we are gona target the LineSiders so he can take some meat home to his family along with the stories to match of Great Times !! :D

Cheers, and continued Good Fishin Buzz !!

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
