Some were hoping this would go away, but I'll respond to your questions. This happened on Day 2 of the tourney, in the final minutes. Yes he was observed in the Area by other Pro's, (one seen him cast). Pugh stated that he didn't see anything Big enough to throw at. Funny thing is, his Co-Angler, only had 4 fish and could have used even a smaller Bedfish.

I know this horse has been beat real bad, but I have a new question.

Is it true that there was a protest at clear lake. It was from a co-angler saying that his pro hooked a fish outside of the mouth and culled a dead fish...

And nothing was done???

He's a pretty big name in the west too....

Any truth to this.....

I didn't hear a thing, but that is most likely because I don't subscribe to RUMORS......

That one right there is also outside of my 'lil tiny circle. I haven't heard anything like that. Hey Ricky, it's got to be "killin" ya, not to be at Mead right now. It is me, but then , the NG is a little out of reach, for some of us. Delta would be nice, but, it would take 3 or 4 in a carpool, for that trip to make any sense.

Yeah it is killing me until I het the freeway in three hours heading toward the Delta.

All of my NG were paid for but I had a little situation rise up at work the day I was to leave for the Delta NG. I can't take two weeks off work in a row so Mead was a nobrainer for me.

I'll take it out on those Delta fish.

No, I just think you have selective hearing...

This stuff needs to be talked about and not swept under the rug. Or sports credibilty is at stake and this stuff is our growing pains. Things like this should be cut and dry, orginizations that rule soft on issue's ruin the integrity of our sport.

Ricky, All people hear are rumors in these instances, do to some orginizations keeping this stuff quiet. There should be no grey area's and anglers should be notified of all infractions made during the event and how it was handled. Its to easy to let things slide and cover them up in our sport and it needs to change.

As far as the "outside the mouth" deal, that rule just plain "Bites". Unless, of course, it was a Bedfish. I'm pretty sure, that Steve Kennedy is the only one to ever throw a fish back that was hooked outside the mouth, with a Swimbait. I truly felt sorry for him, but it was the TV thing.

"RUMOR" was "bed fish" with LV Trap not in mouth...

So the issue is over an off limit area?

He had to know it was and if other competitor's saw him he also had to know that and they might file a protest.

So if an outsider were to form an opinion on this then I would say yes FLW knew about this. What they do about it.......come on it's big business now just like any other sport. And guess what they better join the band wagon of big time sport's look how succesful it is.

We all grew up with BASS but hey time's are changeing unfortunatly you guy's need a second income to fish these Damn thing's now.

Good luck

This is getting way out of hand acqusations and rumors can really bury some people. Unless people can ABSOLUTELY 100% prove that a rule has been broken then dont say anything at all. Not referring to the Moore thing havent really read into that particular situation, but rumors about Clear Lake havent been proved nor publicized publicly so who knows? Just my .02. No pun intended at all. Havent been in any situations as some of the ones being discussed so not sure how I would handle it but i do know RUMORS can really bury people.

cleb19,

You are correct 100%, but when an orginization will not publicize any infractions how do you know there even happening and being delt with correctly. It is apperant that FLW will keep any infractions between them and the angler only. So how do we know that their not saying "try not to do this again" or playing favorite's. I would want to know this if I fished their events. On top of that there is more at stake now with "Fantasy Fishing", violations play even a bigger role now.

I personally think that FLW has gotten too big too fast and are having growing pains along with mgmt problems. They don't seem to know (or care?) how to handle these situations. They have several issues right now that need to be addressed or they're going to start seeing a decline in membership. All rules should be handled the same for all members. These protests keep coming up with no resolutions, I personally witnessed dead fish being weighed at Amistad and they reported no dead fish, they allow you to cull dead fish etc., etc., etc. They had a good idea to start and that is why they grew so fast but something or someone needs to give them a reality check! I am not an avid supporter of FLW nor BASS and fish which ever has the schedule closest to me, but at least BASS will hold everyone to the same standards! I also heard about the protest at Clear Lake that had no outcome!
Oh Well,maybe another day!!!
