I too think it is funny! I also think a lot of what is on the show "Jackass" is funny, but some of it is a bit extreme. I think this prank was funny, because it was unexpected. The employees of Bass Pro Shops, weren't expecting it, they were surprised, it caught them off guard and they didn't know how to react. I personally get a kick out catching people off guard. To me the prank is no different than hiding around the corner and jumping out and startling someone, or plastic wrapping the toilet seat. The only time i think it isn't appropriate is if the party that you are pranking is not capable of handling the prank (ie. flying off the handle) or isn't capable of retaliating with another prank. How do we know that one of their buddies doesn't work there, and they were going there knowing that their buddy was gonna have to clean it up?

What's the last thing a redneck says?

"Watch this." :D

It was a stupid, JackAss, funny, semi-harmless, childish, cleaver, cool thing to do. And those kids will be laughing about it at their 30th High School Reunion. And I'm sure God will send them both to hell for doing that.

I'm not sure age has much to do with your perspective on it. I'm ambivilent about it and I'm older than Steve Greene. :D

And for old time sake, like Jason C. mentioned, remember what Bugs Bunny says, "Don't take life too seriously, you're not getting out alive."

I'm trying to figure out if you guys are mad because it happened at a Bass Pro Shops, what if it happened at the Tresure Island in Vegas during the show?

I dont think it has anything to do with a "generation", disrepectfull acts have been going on since the dawn of man. Duels come to mind, obviously someone did something "disrespectful" to someone and as a result someone got pissed off.

Remember streaking? How many of you thought that was funny at the time and how many "older" people got upset because it was offensive.

"Let ye without sin cast the first stone" Following this rule are some of you saying you have never done anything crazy that might have pissed someone off, think about it.

Kids are kids and thats it. I would much rather see this "idea" of fun than the someones idea of fun is sticking a needle in his arm or holding up a store on a dare.

So lighten up people.

I think these same punk kids drove down my street last night with a paintball gun. Every car on the street, big orange paint splatters!! I had to help my "old" neighbor clean the paint of his garage because I was afraid he would fall off the ladder.

Not funny!!

But I'll admit I laughed when I saw the dumb-***'s jump in the tank.......that being said if they were my kids they wouldn't be sittin for a week!! As I get older these kids get dumber!!

BINGO we have a winner!!!!

TP a house
egg houses
poop in the bag
Simple kid pranks..

No one got hurt, yes its wrong, and I would be pissed if it happened to me, but this is what kids do! These things are harmless, and yes if I had a kid he would pay for it, but kids are kids. We have all done these kinda things. Its not like they we're stealing, doing drugs, or being in a gang. (and I'm an ex member) There are far more things to worry about then this. I have first hand experience in way worse things then this.

Not gonna say lighten up, or you are too old, but we should be worried about far worse things...

Come on that was funny, Every generation had its moments 50's it was fast cars(breakin the law ) Making out at some spot, you may think that was ok but what about the girls father? Back in those days they didn't play.

Then you had the sixties Peace a whole lotta love makin with who ever felt the need, drugs on the capital steps,etc...

you get the point we can call it the Viva la bam generation but the fact is every generation has the same BS just in different ways now if yall was sitting at home in your room not out havin fun then yall prob. missed out

I dont mind the safety factors mentioned here but the Generation comment really gets me my Generation got Rap like Grand master Flash,Woodini, Run DMC ,etc... My ol' man wasn't to hip on it and he always said the youger gen. Has gone to #$%% Yea I went thru a phase (found my roots though LOL) So take it lightly every generation has thier deals

just my 0.02

Its BS, Thats simple. I work at a sporting goods retail store. Not BPS, but the idea is the same. Think of the poor bastard who had to sit there and clean up after those kids. I don't mind when people enjoy themselves with the product in the store. But what if you're working and someone just comes up and knocks items down on purpose, just for fun. It that funny too? That's the same idea with these guys. It ain't funny. That store offers a service, AND entertainment. Many stores don't. Those kids took advantage of what they were offered. Probably because one of their girlfriends made a bet they could get popular on YouTube.
And, I do have a personal problem with this. I'm young and I pay for what dumba$$$$ like these guys do in stores. It ain't cool man. It ain't cool that I go into a retail store and employees don't give me the time or effort because they figure somebody my age and appearance is just there to screw around, destroy their hard work, or steal something. Stuff like this makes my life harder and I don't appreciate it. This isn't Jackass or Scars. That stuff is a show, not reality. And if you're going to screw crap up, at least make it your own. My friends and I do plenty of crazy stuff. But we don't trash other people's property and we destroy our own stuff, not somebody else's. Or better yet, friggin' grow up and learn how to respect something that ain't yours.

I own and run a indoor bike and skatepark. I hang out with teenagers everyday. I run a very respectful establishment. And I know for a fact that things sometimes look worse than it is. Kids need Outlets. And sometimes that outlet is a prank or somethimg like it. I have learned to be pretty patient and tolerable. Otherwise they will go and find sometghing else to do and Drugs and Alcohol are easy access these days.

Well i guess i am getting old to! 28 years old and one step away of managing my own Safeway.

What I do not like is that day to day, I am told how we need to make things better and better to please.........EVERYONE..........investors, Ceo's, Retail Ops, District Mgrs and whoever else.......O-yeah the customers! the ones who depend on us. We even have fund raising events four times a year!!

I wonder if BPS donates back to the fishing and hunting community?

Day to Day I am given more demands and responsibilities and my follow through has to be 100%.

Do I get tired of it? NO.... Because I feel my hard work is what my customers who DEPEND ON ME WILL APPRECIATE and THEIR FAMILIES WILL BENEFIT.

Would those kids piss me off and my crew If they came into my store and started doing "Out of Line Actions"?????????

We would detain them. A lesson or few may have been skipped during their upbringing.....

Hay how about those 3 whacky kids at the SF Zoo prankin with the Tiger , I guess what scares me with the younger generation is the no limit mentality when we were younger we did some stupid stuff but we knew when something might not be a bright idea . As far as Jack *** they crack me up because their absolutely brainless and they aren't kids either . BPS tank diving , that's something we would have probably done but I don't know if I would pick a store with a huge weapons department filled with employees that hunt and gut things to do it in .

Add me to the group that thought it was funny. I wouldn't be happy if it was my kid that did that but it still made me laugh. C'mon guys...all they did was jump in a giant tank of water. I highly doubt that any ofthe fish in the tank were harmed and all that happened was a little water sloshed out. It was a harmless kids prank and nothing more. Sure, it wasa little disrespectful, but it definitely isn'ta sign of the apocalypse. Boys will be boys...

Hey Guy, I myself was involved in actions a lot more idiotic in my youth..I never said the boys were evil or anything even close, I just didn't see anything funny about it..I wasn't even slightly amusing in my opinion..I just don't get what others see in it that is funny or amusing..It is just a couple of kids jumping in the water..Much like jumping in the fountain downtown..What is the funny part..Now if they had jumped in naked after stripping off their clothes, that just might be a little bit funny..I know it was a prank and no one was really hurt or even put out..I just can't see anything funny in it..

prank=funny, if your not on the butt end of it. There isn't a person who posted on this thread that would laugh about it if it were your store. but as others have stated, pranks go back a long ways, we all played them on others to some degree. it's a a right of passage.

Sorry Dan, I didn't laugh about it..I just didn't see anything to laugh about..I know it was nothing more than a prank, I just don't see anything funny in it..Guess I lost my sense of humor..I still laugh about a lot of things, but I just didn't find anything even slightly funny about the video..If one of them had come up with a fish, that would nave been funny..Jumping in and then running off just wasn't funny in my opinion..I just want someone to explain to me what is so funny about the video..I guess it is just a joke that I don't get the punch line to..

don't tell me you didn't enjoy shellback days (as long as you weren't the "wog") I know I took great fun in initiating wog's accross the equator, although I can't say I enjoyed my first crossing, torture was more like it. Problem is Mac, all that time in the Navy, you saw way too many really funny things, for some stupid stunt to tickle your funny bone. Take ten different people and you get ten different opinions. The funny part is that these two juvenille moron's jumped into a fish tank in BPS, really it isn't that funny. I did a few things to the Master Chiefs coffee mug that were pretty damn funny, but that's getting off topic 8)

Mac;

As much as i want to agree with you about the lack of humor in the video of the pranksters.

Watching it took me back to my day of putting out houses in the middle of town with road hazard signs around em and safety flares going. or dog ka ka in the paper sack on my neighbors front porch, on fire !

I have learned that as time has gone on around me, it's not me so much that has changed but the youth of today that has.

What we, you and I had to play with and do was far more simpler than the kids of today have and the energy that is bottled up in them is a tremendous force of nature that needs to be reckoned with!

We gave them the toys to play with and now they have em to do and choose how they must behave.

By in large I have trust and faith that they will turn out O.K.

Judging by the recent Collage Grads that I just witnessed, some of who graduated "Cum Laddie" my nephew. I think that the society of today is in good hands.

It just sort of sad to me that we are leaving them such a mess to clean up after we are gone !

Dan, I unfortunately only made one trip across the equator aboard ship, so I experienced it as a polywog..I can say that chiefs initiation was somewhat tamer..Yeah, saw lots of funny things in my 26 years, saw lots of very strange things too..I won't even go into the terrifying things..Now you can't experience any of those things in the "new" Navy..It is a much kinder, more gentle place..Sure glad I retired when I did..Like I said it is obvious to some it was funny, I just can't see it..Now if the kid had lost his trunks running away, that would have been funny..

Take a kid fishing, and don't forget about us older kids either..
