there is a large fire going on in the santa cruz area and is coming close to corrolitos in watsonville i live in town and there is lots of heavy ash and thick smokey skys hope they can get the fire contained len

I hope so too. My folks live 2 miles from the fire and
are only safe as long as the wind keeps this direction.
Fires up there can jump 2 miles in a heart beat. No
one has been hurt yet so lets pray everyone stays safe.

It's still fully out of control and expected to double in size by the end of the day. These winds are not helping matters. My buddy's family already lost their house and it's closing in on another one of my friends houses. This is not good. I'm hoping they get this thing under control ASAP.

Not to freak you out or anything, but I just saw on the news that the wind could change direction later in the day. I hope your folks are gathering some stuff and getting out of dodge. They shouldn't stick around.

I dont know if it is possible, but I was in Salinas today and it looked like ash trickling around the truck. Then went to Watsonville to pick up some berries at Driscols, same thing. Now I understand why..
I hope everyone out there is ok, gonna turn on the news.
