Anyone use swimbaits at Shasta??
I have only fished Shasta a couple of times and I was going back up there to fish it again. Some guys I work with just went and caught a ton of trout. When I was there, there was trout everywhere. So I wanted to know if anyone ever uses and catches anything on swimbaits at Shasta? Fishwrangler

um..
I dont think a whole lotta guys throw em out here, there are tons of trout, but there are not tons of trout eating bass, seems like more of a clear lake bait. If you kept throwin it, who knows it might pay off, big bait = big fish right
I have
First time I fished Shasta was in the fall, and I started the morning throwing a small optimum. Stuck a 2.5 spot within 20 minutes, the fish killed it. However, somehow I stopped fishing it. Looking back wish I stuck with that bait.
IMO, Shasta is the perfect place to throw swimbaits. And there is no doubt people are doing it, but they are keeping it hush hush. If you are serious about swimbaits, Im sure you would do fine at Shasta. Im dying to get back up there to explore the swimbait bite a little more thouroughly.
