Yes I agree just under 10 will take it, being in July, I just like the sound of 11.43lbs though. If someone gets a DD I will be surprised. But if they do they should win. I caught most of my biggest fish last summer but the biggest was only 9.5. So if I can find her again, or the several other spawned out 7 and 8lbrs I have a shot. Actually anybody who knows the lake and can fish swimbaits with confidence has a shot. Good Luck Mike and to all........ but I am buying!!!

Waiting list for me. I just realized that it was on Clear Lake. I thought it was going to be down south again. I guess that's what I get for not looking into it. Hopefully some more folks drop out so I can slide in there and give it a shot.

I'm in and I don't think that it will be won on a swimbait and the winning fish will be 8-9 lbs.

It is a summer tournament. It will be interesting to see how they work the 6 hour rule.

With a Sunrise of 5:53 am and safe-light about 30 minutes before - we could have weight-in at Noon and barbecue beef brisket for lunch with all of the trimmings. I could be on my way home by 2:00 pm with a check in my pocket.

Saturday morning I would have to head to the bank then go to the Pre-check-in for Pro-Teen Classic and Sunday fish it.

Marty

PS Good luck to you all.

Hey Marty, remember that the HBC only pays for first place not 2-10th place :) but I do think that there will be a very early start and the weigh in will be at noon with the fun to begin after that. I believe there will be more festivities that are not mentioned yet that are in the works. Remember to bring your 4 inch swimbaits as most of the guys will be dropshotting

Don,

Did you ever use those swimbaits I gave you? I have made some improvements since then – I have a fall rate of 2 feet per second (estimated) and I think I can slow it down even more. But the main way I like to fish them is a wake bait style – O by the way they are 6 inches. Check out the photos! I’m trying to imitate the Clear Lake Hitch.

I know there is only one spot for a check but I have the opportunely to fish with some big names (like you). Plus any given Sunday it can happen – my odds are 1 in 50. That is better then playing the Lotto or going to Vegas.

But I’m really looking forward to the tournament!

Marty

Huh giving up my belt.... Thats a good one since it is mine forever. The only thing left to say now is wouldnt the Clearlake belt go nicely with the Casitas one. I have a nice spot for it in the display case. I need to move some hardbaits to another case first but rumor has it the belt is a size 36 and thats my waist. Hey Don M I heard your waist was a growin?? Too bad the belt wont fit. see ya soon buddy

Dude you are questioning your own skills, what happened with the double hud rig? No confidence? Suckers bet? Arm wrestle? Thats for kids why dont we have a spelling bee? Up on the podium you can spell DOUBLEDIDGIT. OH yeah thats my word, you can spell TWO POUNDER. How about putting up 200.00 and I will do the same and whoever wins if it either of us will take the cash and everybody elses. Sound good and maybe if you will let me I can buy you lunch

Actually I was never any good at spelling, spent my time on the lake. never done the ribbon twirling never even seen it. Is that an Olympic sport. As far as the black belt goes I do have a 5th degree belt in the arts of self defense that took me 17 years to get. I hurt my shoulder in a 6 on 1, just like the one on fight club which my instructor for a while Mark Gerry of Castro Valley was on, to get to the 6th degree and figured that was enough. Back to the fish. Clearlake sucks and I dont understand why. I figure last winter there was a die off of some major proportion thats why numbers of big fish are down. I am going to stop this crap back and forth because we both are good sticks and both have a shot at the win. Take care DM
