Funny E-bay sale.

Post by StogieMan »

I dont know how to make a link so you will have to cut and paste the url. As I stated in my post "Boat Cleaning Products" Rant which turned into a cat thread, if a fisherman will pay $30.00 a gal for a juice to wipe off his boat, then I guess he will buy this too.

Winner of this auction will probably end up selling his/her used reels with box included..... You usually get more money for your reels on the bay if you got the box. I know I use to. Stopped selling my stuff on there after the raised all the fees.

I just did the math......

after checking my storage cabinet out in the fish room, 93 ABU reel boxes, all with foam, tool, Instruction card and lube. At $3.25 per three boxes, that's a C-note and I can go buy two more Black Dog Lunker Punkers!!!!!!!!!!!! HAR! HAR! HAR!

People will by the boxes only for the obvious reason. They have slightly used or demo items that can be sold as new and nobody will ever know. The box completes the whole package.

That's almost $4.00 for a reel box full of air !

If ya do the math, considering inflation of lets say 100% for the reel that was in the box's. That makes the Box with a reel in it at a value of $400.00 each, used.

Hay Cooch, I want your boxes, I ll give ya $2.00 each and I ll give ya , say a reasonable, $75.00 for each reel in em.

Then I get to put em on the auction for a min bid of $350.00 ea.

The original box for any collectible item - be it watches, cameras, guns, or fishing stuff - is worth real money when you sell the item.

I NEVER throw away any of the above boxes - depending on the value of the main item, you might add 5-10% to the final sales value of your item when you sell it.

If you don't believe me, search feeBay for "Colt Box" or "Smith & Wesson Box" and you'll be surprised what they are worth.

I have a couple boxes for a series of Benchmade knives, that shot way up in value after they were discontinued. These are very small boxes, but I still had no problem getting $3.00 plus S&H for them, and that was a couple years ago.

Do I keep boxes for Rattletraps, or even Lucky Crafts? No. For Reels, or Lunker Punkers? Yep :)
