Sun Line
I bought some 7.9 pound sun line for drop shotting and it seems o.k. so far, is there anybody who can give me a report on this line. I have been using 6lb cxx P-line but I noticed Aaron martens uses Sun Line so I thought it would make a diffrence.
If its deeper than a foot, I can catch a bass in it.

Re: Sun Line
I've been using 12lb and 10lb Sniper for two years now, and I don't have anything bad to say about Sniper. It is more limp than the Stren and Bass Pro flouros I've tried, and it doesn't fray like the Vanish I tried. I do have to have the spool tension set so the lure just barely moves down when I push down the thumb bar, but the line casts great. I was fishing Castaic yesterday in the wind, and I didn't have any "professional overruns" even though my partner, who was using the same setup and bait, but with Cuda line, was picking a lot. You do have to be careful when you pick out a backlash. Flouro cuts itself really easily, but it is tough as nails when you're fishing brush and rocks. Yesterday, I caught a 6+ and a 2+ within minutes of each other, and only had to retie after the second fish. Even then, I might have been overconcerned, but the fishes teeth were so sharp I didn't want to take a chance. They are on a shad bite, so their teeth are really sharp.
I even use the 10lb as a 10' leader when I drop shot, with 14' braid as the main line. I join them with an Albright knot, and it casts like there is no knot. The best part is there is NO line twist, or jumping off the spool. And the no-stretch lets me feel every tick.
And set every hook well, even at distance/depth. When I used other flouros I was constantly picking out backlashes.

There are several types of Sunline Flourocarbon available. I prefer to use the Sniper and Shooter varieties. I fish from 5# up to 20#. Both are limp and have great castability with the Shooter being a litttle stiffer, but the Shooter is tougher than the Sniper and virtually bullet proof. Love the stuff but not the price. When I am goofing off I fish P-Line Flouro but when tourney time comes around and money is on the line my reels get Sunline.
p.s. This is the line I switched to last year that I believe helped me win my boat

I started using SunLine Flouro about 4 months ago and I love it. Casts great and it's not as stiff as some of the other flouro's that I have used. I have been using the Sniper version. Haven't had any problems. A bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion.
