Is Redneck synonymous with Racist?

I have sat back and attempted to refrain from replying to a post a while ago regarding the grammatical "errors" in the forum. I personally could not care whether they are typos, slang, etc., as long as it has some relevance to fishing. I too have succumbed to the dreaded "spell check" and have forgotten how to spell certain words that are not part of my regular vocabulary. However, I have to reply to the post below (MY COMMENTS WILL BE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS). I personally am educated to a fairly higher degree than most but do not try to flaunt it in any way. In fact, I have arguments with former colleagues who seem to glorify their socio-economic status as a result of their "education." I constantly dare them to differentiate between educated and intelligent and challenge them to some type of trivial matter in order to distinguish between the two (as long as it is either science, math or English) since we have "equivalent" degrees and education in order to show them the difference between "educated" versus "intelligence." I feel that college was a formality (and realize that is a subjective comment). Some of the smartest people I knew (or know) never finished college. By the way, I am a brown American. If you are still reading this, I thank you and applaud your patience.

Sorry brother but right now get up, get in your truck and drive to your local DMV,Corner Store,Bank,etc... AMERICA has been taken over by the Trojon Horse tactics. People come here from other countries and they bring there rude ways of life there own beliefs

A short 5 years ago I could goto my local "JACK IN THE BOX" during the summer and see all american kids working for the summer I did it as a kid, I worked at Burger King till I got fired something about a girl(damn she was fine), the bathroom and the manager walking in on us fun times (YOU MEAN "WHITE" NOT "AMERICAN." MY GUESS IS A SHORT 15 TO 20 YEARS AGO)

Anyway now you go and its adults(most illegals) one makes manager and they hire in all there family. I even read on Yahoo the teens of today are gonna have a hard time finding summer jobs! (I FIGURED AFTER 9/11, BACKGROUND CHECKS HAVE BECOME MORE STRINGENT THAN EVER? I THINK YOU MEAN THE "LAZY" TEENS AND I MIGHT ADD THAT COLOR IS OF NO SIGNIFICANCE AT THAT POINT).

And the exact same thing has happen in politics one educated indavidual gets in office and gets some power and he/she hires the like and it trickles down the ladder. We are now the minorites (IN THIS CASE, I WOULD LIKE YOU TO CONSIDER THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN EDUCATED PERSON AND A WEALTHY ONE)

And if anyone needs more proof just go to Cal-Jobs or look in the paper the employers are requiring BI-LINGUAL and the pay they are offering is directly targeted at Cheap Labor! (MANY EDUCATORS ARE BI-LINGUAL AND ARE JUSTIFIABLY PAID MORE FOR BEING SO)

As for the dollar when ya got millions of illegals working for cash and millions of illigals sending that American dollar EVERY WEEK to thier country to help thier families that amounts to a very large chunk of change leaving the US every day. (GREAT ECONOMIC IDEOLOGY, YOU COULD HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS!) If you want the old standards of what America use to be we gotta get it back FIRST! (WITH WHAT, GUNS, CHEWING TOBACCO AND COUNTRY MUSIC? ACTUALLY, I LIKE FIRING WEAPONS, CHEWING TOBACCO AND COUNTRY MUSIC)

Now I have no problem with a man wanting to provide a better life for his family but I do believe in doing it the right and legal way! (AMEN!)

And nothing going to change I can prove it I was headed home one day and seen like 10 illegals (ASSUMED "ILLEGAL" AND MEXICAN) standing on the corner of Home Depot in my little town of Tracy,Ca it pissed me off (IS THIS THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE EVER SEEN A CONGREGATION OF NON-WHITE "ILLEGAL" PEOPLE STANDING ON A CORNER? I'M ASSUMING THEY ARE NOT WHITE DUE TO YOUR PREVIOUS COMMENTS. WE'VE HAD AN INFLUX OF RUSSIAN, LITHUANIAN, ETC. AND I WOULD BET THAT YOU WOULD NOT MIND SEEING 10 OF THEM STANDING ON A CORNER OF A HOME DEPOT) I called my local Tracy Police department and told them I would like to report a crime they asked what it was? I proceeded to tell them there are illegals and the lady cut me off and said what crime are they commiting ? I said they were breaking the law by being here illegally! (THAT IS HILLARIOUS AND GREAT!) She informed me there was nothing they could do they did not have the time money or resources to handle situations like that!!!!! (THAT IS HARD TO BELIEVE, SINCE MONEY IS BEING POURED INTO THE POLICE AND FIRE INDUSTRIES)

Yea I pay TAXES thats my Tax dollar at work! I am tired of paying the way for the rest of the world they have land and goverments they want a America Then Build It, a domacracy is not a hard concept to grasp! REMEMBER THE ALAMO? Davey Crockett? Pregnate woman on fox 40 news a few weeks ago admitted women will cross the boarder illegally to have there kids here in the USA for FREE! ITS NOT FREE IDIOTS! Working stiffs like us Pay for them services and every year I gotta pay more! (TRY WATCHING AT LEAST A NATIONAL NEWS CHANNEL AND YOU MAY NOTICE THAT THEY ARE FIRING TEACHERS IN ORDER TO HIRE MORE BORDER PATROL. Am I little upset? (I WOULD SAY... YES) You bet I am I just got passed over for a job not becuase the guy was better qualified for the job but becuase he offered to do the job for 5.00 bucks an hour cheaper! (SAVING MONEY IS MAKING MONEY. WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT WITH TODAY'S ECONOMY) I know this for a fact becuase my buddy was trying to get me the job. He was upset that his company was more worried about the $$$ then safety (remember the guy who burned down the bridge in the bay area last year?) (NO, I'VE BEEN FOCUSING TOO MUCH ON NATIONAL AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS)

Answer to your primary question is that being a redneck does not require you to be a racist. The rest of the rant is somehow attempting to refute the obvious. Yes we have a huge economic and social problem with illegal Mexican immigrants. I personally know one that just had a surgery that cost the taxpayers $40000 dollars and he earns $12 an hour with no insurance so there must be a bunch more. It is always interesting that some people play the race card on this issue rather than looking at the facts. Not an easy problem but if you think it is not a problem you are an ostrich. JMO.

I do not believe being Redneck is racist. For the most part Redneck's make fun of themselves and there life style, relatives and such, not other race's.
As for the illegal problem, no matter what the nationality. We should adopt the same policy we had in years past. Arrest and deport them, even if it is a turning door. Or to offset the demonstrations against our policy, use the same illegal rules and laws that the county the illegal is from, that should slow down the problem. You just try to go to any other country and be illegal and do as they do in the USA and see what happens. I can remember, more years than I want too, as a law-enforcement officer we were told to stop arresting and calling border patrol on illegals, as they did not have the man power to handle the people we were arresting. So the problem has been building and being let go for to many years and look where we are folks. Bill K

First you are assuming that the illegal Mexican immigrant I referred to is my freind. He is the uncle of one of my employees who is a citizen. We have a new employer sanction law that I supported. It is law yet not one single employer has been prosecuted since it became law in january. We have laws and our government which includes both parties is ignoring them due to pressure from business leaders and hispanic activists.

Correct, I moved this post from the Fishing Board to the Politics board, as this is a new thread that is a Political discussion and not a fishing discussion.

The poster who posted why here was responding to the question "why is this post in the fishing forum?"
