What line do you use when fishin caralina rig

Just wondering what people are using,I am thinking of goin a bit heavier. I use p-line 8lb flouro clear.

10-12 lb mainline and 6-8 leader. Both flourocarbon.

It depends on time of year and depth fishing plus structure fishing. For me mostly it's 15-20 pound main line and 8-12 pound test leader. Sometimes flouro and sometimes mono. I fish bigger baits with the draggin' rig too.

i love to drag... it works awesome. I like 80lb spectra to a 3 way swivel and i use 10lb on one and 4lb on the other in case the fish are line shy. It works every time.

I use power pro with about a 3 foot leader of 17(Uni to Uni knot), lb test to that I tie the swivel and than eather 12, 10 ,8 lb test
the reason for the the 17 lbs test is simple you cannot beat the power pro for sensitivity but the bottom hang ups can be a drag, if your sinker gets caught up on the bottom your breaking 17 lbs test intead of 30 or 65 lbs power pro.

another thing about the 17 lb test is, when you cast the line out the line kinda floats and I dont seem to get the sinker tangle that some time comes with this type fishing.

Speaking of a rockhopper.... even if it gets hung up if you back yourself up over it you'll get it out probably 90%+ of the time.

i use MY own rod with 8lbs. nice fish in your photo but mine was bigger!!!

12lb flouro almost all the way (at least when you think a fish over ten is going to hit???). If you have to use lighter line, 6lb maxima leader is about the only thing i feel comfortable hooking big fish on as well as getting bit by all sizes!!!!
