I've been hooked!!!

Post by donny916 »

I've been hooked...caught my first bass and now I have spent hundreds of dollars to start a new hobby that I'm trying to understand. I bought a float tube to start, so I need some good locations that I could go to and what to use at these locations. I wish that I could buy a boat, but the old lady said I can't...maybe I'll use her as a swim bait..lol

Hey Donny,
I believe I met you at the Bass-a-palooza, so "Hey again" and welcome to westernbass.com

and yes there are a whole lot of float tubers out there so you should have no problem getting a little advice as to where to go.

Shoot me a pm and I'll let you in on a few places to take the tube out, some of my old haunts from years past!

All the best,
Dan

I can remember the firt bass I caught, and can relate, I too was hooked. Welcome to a fantastic hobby that can last a lifetime.

I'd recommend finding and joining a bass club, best thing I ever did. Check out this site, has a ton of them and you can certainly find one in your area.

I havent been there in a while but a short distance away is cameron park lake, no giants but plenty of fish to bend the rod. Dropshots, spinnerbaits and jigs, also topwater in the a.m. and evenings. directly east of there on cameron park blvd right on mira loma drive all the way up the hill on the other side of the softball feilds is a small lake that was just as good. good luck.
