GLX BCR 854

Post by edge »

I am curious for those of you who fish this rod, do I really need to go to an 853 for T-Rigs?

When I pitched worms and jigs, I usually like the same action so I do not have to adjust when picking up another rod. I noticed the 853 has a faster tip.

I am pitching 1/4 to 3/4 oz baits.

Looking forward to your input.

I have not fished these two specific models, but I have one question. Are you capable of accurately pitching and fishing the 854 with the baits that you want? If the answer is yes, then I wouldnt change a darn thing just cause the rod is rated as being "too heavy"

I structure jig fish with a MBR784C IMX and the rule book says I would want a faster tip and that the rod is too stiff etc... Well not my rule book, my rule book says I wanted a Stout, sensative rod that I could control the bait with in small incremental movements, that I could fish 1/2oz - 1oz football heads, stick fish and get em to the boat.

If it is working for you dont change a darn thing, now if you dont have a Medium Heavy rod in your arsenal then I would say that my Medium Heavy Rods are my multi purpose rods that handle a variety of situations from blades, to senkos, to worms, jigs, cranks etc...
