HBC Story. VERY LONG.................................

The Big Show
HBC2 – Clearlake, California

One big fish… winner takes all… The Heavyweight Bass Classic!

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Don Moorman. Many know me as BassinDon69 in the chat forums online. I’m your typical middle aged small time local bass fisherman. I fish mostly for fun but I do a few local tournaments each year, preferably the night ones. Fishing is a passion and I have been doing it all my life. Over the past several years I started swimbait fishing and hunting for that “catch of a lifetimeâ€

This one was hard, I had a few buddies there that I wanted to win but only one would. Of course you were one Don. Even though you didn't win I know you had a great time and what more can you ask for (besides 10 grand  ) This sport needs more guys like you, super nice guy and always fun to be around. Cant make it to Amistad but I wish you luck.

How did you and your wife do after the tourney? Were you guys ables to see or at least hear the concert while you were fishin?

Great Read Don,,,I was right behind you at the Event at 4.67 for 16th. Fished South for the most of it. The Event and the people that run it, Ken Huddleson, Ron C. Stan V. Rich Smith. Velvick all were great to talk to and made the event exciting.

If I can find a sponsor for the Texas Event, I'll be their in a heartbeat. $1000.00 for $50,000.

Congrats to Shawn Bailey for his WIN.

First of all Thanks everyone, Glad you liked it :D .

Ryan, NO we made it to about horseshoe and the wife got soaked by wind waves  I got a little wet but not like her so we headed back. She did boat a few nice 4 lb fish that night and in the morning. She had a blast too.

Great story Don! Now all we need to do is figure out how to get to Texas! :?

Heres my story on how the HBC went. All the fish I found during pre-fish disappeared. My topwater bite was non-existent. I moved deeper and shallower with the topwater, nothing. So, I decided to pick up a great big sub-surface and just pray for that one big fish. The big bite never came, but at least I knew I was giving myself a chance. The end.

WOW! That would be AWESOME! I don't know what to say buddy.
We will see if I can get sponsored for this one first. This one has a big cost on it. I can't do it alone. If it works out I will be there. With friends like you Mark I just may be there. :D
