Well, I did not hear the message personally but I was listening to the station when they made 3 appologies within 40 minutes for the words spoken by Savage.

So Dave, are you saying he did not say those things and this is all a big hoax to bring down the mighty Savage. Bring him down from what is what I would like to know. The man is not running for office although some of you would give your left n#$ if he would. The little I have listened to him I can tell he is a real nut job. All you have to do is listen to some of the nonsense he spews and you should be able to see that to, that is, if you your not too emotionally connected to the man.

Just like most media screw-ups he was wrong on part and correct on part. I listened to an autism fundraiser here and all the moms who called in describing their children. One mom had two little boys and both had autism. It was shocking that they both had eating disfunction autism. She said one would not ever eat green vegetables. Another one had sleeping disorder autism. Just like ADHT this is the new catch excuse disease for the soccer moms who couldn't raise a kid if they had to. Yes there are autistic kids that have a serious problem and need help but these bimbos will screw it up for the needy just to hide their incompetence. If you think that we went from 1 in 150000 children with autism to 1 in 150 in just a few years then you are dumber than a rock.

He definitely slipped up, but if you listen to his show regularly, you'll understand what he was trying to say. While he certainly crossed the line with what he said he definitely has a heart when it comes to kids. Typical Savage to come off like that though. I don't think I have ever heard him trying to "apologize" like this for something that he had said.

I was listening that day and I can tell you that his words were taken WAY out of context. What he said was: approximately 40-60% of the kids diagnosed with autism were misdiagnosed or overdiagnosed, and of those... 99% blah blah blah.

He was not saying that there are not autistic kids. He was saying that a large percentage of those diagnosed as autistic just need some discipline and structure.

My sister is a great example. Her oldest son (now 11 years old) was diagnosed as autistic at the age of 1 1/2. From that moment on he was treated as the "special" kid, he was put on medication to motivate him, he was put on medication to calm him down, he was put on medication to counteract the other medications... it was rediculous. I knew, and most of my family suspected, that he was not autistic. When he hit my son in the head with a golf club his parents said "dont get mad at him... he's special". He was an evil kid with a "hall pass" to do what ever he wanted.

The doctors eventually figured out that he was not autistic but not before major damage was done to him, both physically from the medications, and mentally/socially. He is now a complete monster of a kid and it is really all the fault of those doctors who raced to judgement on his condition (as well as my sisters for trusting the doctors and not getting a second opinion).

This is not a rare occurance, it happens all the time. Savage was pointing out that parents who have kids that are diagnosed as autistic should seek additional opinions before placing the kids on medication.

What he said was very clear and, I believe, correct. Listen to the whole conversation and you will see what I mean. Savage has no reason to apologize.

I know Fish will make this into an evil republican thing, but it has nothing to do with politics. Savage wrote the book (literally) on child nutrition and how it effects behavior. The work he published back in the 80's is now gaining recognition and acceptance in the medical community. (same with his book on alshiemers).

There are many people out there that hate everything Savage stands for (borders, language and culture), they will do anything to make a fool of him. Some times Savage goes overboard and deserves this kind of scrutiny... this is not one of those times. Do yourself a favor Fish, go to the source (im sure the transcripts are available on Savages website) and find out for yourself what Savage said. Dont be a sheep!

If he said nothing wrong why would he not release transcripts or the whole audio statement? Face it the man screwed up and he does not even have the cohones to appologize.

Let's say Savage is right (which I am not sure he is but for the sake of a argument we'll say he is) about the medical community mis-diagnosing autism that is not the point. The point is he grouped all autism patients and parents together and said the parents were not parenting and the kids were lazy.

Like I said he screwed up and he needs to appologize and then move on.

C. yep - Why are we assisting folks who are not paying in to the system??

D. no - I know lots of folks employed at NUMI in Fremont.

E. no - I think dealing with how crappy and corupt mexico is will make it unneccessary for folks to come here if their country is in good order.
