What would you do?

Post by Bassinlee »

I'm pretty sure I'd do what this fisherman did. And wouldn't think twice about it.

Beats the alternative  .
And you can bet your bottom dollar, I'd make every single court appearance that lowlife had, and invite a bunch of my very large and angry looking fishermen friends to come watch.

I'll never know because I'd never eat at Hardy's.

Seriously, go in a restaurant and leave the keys in the car, running? Free boat, come and get it.

Well, I'd probably do the same thing.

Having lived in Cali for 7 years now I'd never leave my car running let alone unlocked. However, I grew up in rural Nebraska until I was 18 and never once locked my truck or house. I even recall leaving my truck running a few different times to run into the bank or store to grab something quick. Different parts of the country are like different parts of the world. I find it sad we can't trust the person parked next to us or better yet the person standing next to us in line for breakfast.

My kin learned the hard way, Put his baby in the car -20 degrees in suburb in midwest. Forgot his briefcase on the table. Ran in quickly, grabbed it came out to see his car leaving. Guy didn't know there was a baby inside. Found the car 3 hours later - running 12 blocks away. Baby was okay.

Wife just called, guy just stole her umbrella from her art exhibit right in front of her. Strapped it to his bike and went to another park. Police on their way. LOL Never ceases to amaze me of their boldness.

I got the whole story. So a young man comes up to my wife and says, "Some guy just yelled, 'hey look what I'm gonna do.' and he jumped the fence and took your display umbrella. I already called the police. I know the guy, He lives right there across the street and that's where the umbrella is."

The cops arrive and tell my wife they'll get the umbrella back. She paid $20 for it. Petty theft. The cops ask if she wants to press charges. She asks their opinion. They say, "Forget it. He's a sixty year old burn out drug addict who has no problem going to jail. He'll be on the streets tomorrow without learning anything or caring."

She said can you read him a riot act and tell him to stay away? The cop says yes. The cop goes over to the house and screams and yells at the guy and leaves.
