It is always funny how the bad news seems to take over anything good in the world.

I recently attended the ICAST 20008 show in Las Vegas a few weeks back, the main purpose was to debut the new 4â€

Don't let it get to you man, you are making some great baits and so is Matt. Work it out together and both of you keep up the good work.

Looking forward to ALL of your new baits. From what I have seen, they look awesome.

A spinnerbait is the same no matter how makes it .It is the small things that make one better thant the others .And as an person how has made a lure better without it looking any different we will have to see the action of it .looks can be deciving .

The part I don't git, what is it about all these swimbait makers that make them think they are so high and mighty with their designs, when it has been an industry standard fer ever that other people always copy yer design. Why is it, when ever there is a "COPY" thread started on any forum, it always seems to involve, two swimbait guys? This sure ain't helping the overall view that the next generation of bass fishermen have towards our sport. I mean think about it, where are the battles of the first bass boat? How about the first plastic worm, round reels, low profile reels, spinning reels, the crankbait. How bout fishing lines, mono, copoly, fluors, braid. And don't fergit the spinner bait, buzzbait and Jigs. Never heard Heddon complain when everyone started ta clone or make variations of the Spook. How bout that Yamamoto Senko? Has there ever been a bait more copied in our life time? Don't here GYCB complaining. Our fishing world would be a complete disaster if ALL the manufactures took the same approach as these swimbait makers do.

What these guys do to each other in the form of public ridicule, is a lot more damaging than having such a great product out there, that everyone wants to copy it in some way. I'm sorry, I just don't git it. I'm so glad I never baught into the Swimbait Nation thing, just doesn't sound like their world is a whole bunch of fun, cept when there on the water!

Oh, now there's a concept ta copy, git on the water and go have some fun! And leave yer damn EGO's in the TRUCK!

Well a wave worm isn't a Senko, and a money minnow isn't a basstrix. New baits will always be improved upon. It's up to the manufacturer to bring something to the table. I love mattlures, and his were the first to my knowledge. I love that they stand up on the bottom. I think that Siementel's version of the bluegill is a good idea with the double hook, because sometimes Matt's would flip in the fish's mouth, and I would miss the hookup, but I'm usually using a treble on the bottom of that bait. It does look similar, but so does a wave worm and a senko. Consumers will decide what is the best bait and go from there.

Lets just face it. If Bills gill would have been from the ground up it wouldnt have mattered, lol. I hear people talk about how almost any bait with three baits is a copy of the Tripple Trout and on and on. Lets face it people theres only sooo many ways you can make a copy of a fish! In the end its going to look like another bait! I was in the import car thing for years. Guys copying bodykit parts ect ect. This is just what happens! You market your stuff sell as many as you can and hope it doesnt happen.
Im not taking anyones side on this but Bills bait does have two hooks. He also said it doesnt sit up straight. We also havent seen the tail on the thing.

Well theres always going to be copy cats.
What MATT Lures did in putting this on a public site makes everyone involved look bad in my opinion.
Its up to us the consumer to spend our money on the original maker of the bait. Its very rare for a copycat to come out with a better bait than the original. I for one have every bait matt has put out! BUT this BS DOES NOT make me want to support either party.

Here is a link from the south page. I think Matts looks more like a blluegill but I also think Bills is different. What about the storm wild eye? To each his own. Buy from which ever guy you want to buy from is my take.
